129 MPH Winds: Pacific Northwest Slammed
Just a brief alert folks. I live on the Oregon Coast and my wife’s Lilac Tree was uprooted and tossed in to the corner like a dirty shirt. I was right in the middle of posting this very interesting story about how, according to India, the Pakistan ISI is funding terrorist groups to go into India and kill people and blow stuff up. And then POOF…lights out.
They’re on again right now, but wow, the wind, she is howling. I live in a 105 year old, big old Victorian house that has probably been through many a storm like this so thats comforting…
That’s how it was in the Coast Guard in the Bering Sea with 50 ft waves and 90 knot winds ( thats 125 mph winds) and 34 degree water as far as the eye could see 360. Looking for dumbass Korean and Japanese fishermen that got greedy. The only thing you really have to comfort you is the mantra: “This pig has been through shit like this before, it can handle it.”
Anyway, here’s a story on the nasty ass weather because it made national news, and because I live here. Word is some places out here won’t get power back for three days. Glad I leave near the cop shop and the fire dept, priority power grid, baby.
Could this be the first sample of schizo-girl’s wrath?
Be afraid.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:42 pmBe very afraid.
You see what global warming has done!
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:43 pmGood luck to you out there Bash. We were hit with a really bad ice storm here in ohio last winter and we didnt have power for almost a week with temperatures at times in the negative degrees.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:45 pm129 mph on the other hand is crazy shit. been through some tornados before but it sounds like you’re getting hammered.
heard about that storm moving in i think its dumped 20 inchs of snow in whistler bc in a day, live in 1860 victorian terrace/townhouse right on the sea front overlooking the north sea,get some right storms that only make our local news,if london and the southeast of england get the weather we get up in the northeast they’d shit themselves, the wind meter blew of the light house at a pier near here, the last reading was 105mph then it got worse during the night about ten years ago that was, just hunker down and throw another log on the fire.arrr the sea be a harsh misstress arrrr more rum boy arrrr
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:51 pmMy area didn’t get hit too bad but there is a hell of a lot of flooding going on.

Bashman IS Al Gore’s worst global warming nightmare.
December 3rd, 2007 at 7:30 pmI got about 4 tons of snow and rain on my new boat shed roof last night and the damn thing collapsed and smashed the 16 foot sailboat I was building. Good part is that I bought plans for another 16 footer (Grey Swan)from England last summer and really wanted to get going on it but couldn’t think of a good reason to stop work on the first one. Got about eight hundred pounds of splintered wood for a reason now.
December 3rd, 2007 at 9:43 pmKurt: I live in St. Louis. That same storm hit us and knocked out our power for two days. It was insane.
Good luck handling that, Bash, and don’t forget to post that article when it’s over and done with.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:39 pmHey, Bash, you should write on your experience in Bering sea (a kind of “Moby-dick” story ? ) I like stories of people who were or are on the sea, wether it’s for their job or competition ; My hubby was a seeman too, but kind of “officer” of ordonnance to a commandant of cruises ships. BTW, one was called “Renaissance” and she was sent to Vancouver to make the cruises trips from there to Alaska ; they sometimes got hard time to cross the cap horn.
cross your fingers so that the storm won’t hurt anyone
December 4th, 2007 at 3:29 amuh, sorry Cap Horn was ment for the other trips
December 4th, 2007 at 3:31 amBashman . . . prayers with you brother!
