Rick L., in a later report on this Marine, mentioned the Sgt. Kunkle had tended bar in Akron after his wounds healed and wore shorts behind the bar. When asked how he got the massive scar on his leg he would come up with inventive tales to tell … One was that he was a big surfer on the west coast, had been attacked by a shark, lost his surfing endorsements, and moved far away from the coast because it was to tough not to be able to surf again …
