She knew the risks but, unlike so many of those in the west who have come to take democracy for granted, she knew it was something worth fighting for, something worth dying for.
December 27th, 2007 at 8:26 am@ John Courage; I totally agree that she was well intentioned and had some real Cajones (gotta give credit where it is due)… It just seemed to me that if in office she would serve as a destabilizing force at this time; basically because I don’t think she was able to draw the support of the Pakistani Military in achieving the goals she was putting forth… She probably has done more to advance democracy by becoming a Martyr than she could have as a leader… It will be interesting to find out which of the Factions was responsible for the assassination, because it could be just about any one of a half dozen!
