Video: 9 Dead As Shooter Opens Fire In Omaha Mall
Reports say 9 dead, including gunman.
14:00 UPDATE:Reports now say 9dead. And other reports say Police removed a grenade from the parking lot of that very mall late Friday. Omaha Police say someone found the grenade in the mall parking lot near The Cheesecake Factory. It was still intact - meaning the pin had not been removed. Police say no one was around when they found the grenade. The bomb squad safely removed it from the area. They had no suspects.
13:30 UPDATE: Suspect is in custody. Witnesses say he was wearing camo and stuck out “like a sore thumb” and that 35-40 shots were fired.
Fox News reports so far that at least one person is dead and 10 others likely shot in a shopping mall in Omaha, Nebraska.
We’ll keep a watch on this…
What. The. Fuck.
December 5th, 2007 at 1:36 pmMan, everyone is going to live in Cho’s shadow now.
December 5th, 2007 at 1:57 pmSome stupid people in this world…
Not to take away from how tragic this is, but mark my words. The “Blame America First” crowd will come out and scream for more gun control laws (feel good laws that don’t do shit) after this… just like they always do.
Shameful.
December 5th, 2007 at 2:00 pmdamn there saying 9 dead now
December 5th, 2007 at 2:30 pmToo bad that nobody was armed at the time to stop this dik.
Since any city in NE can opt out of the newly created CCW law, it is entirely possible that Omaha left it’s citizens defenseless to a mass murderer. If that be the case, the city officials should be stoned to death by the surviving relatives of those murdered today.
It is the MO of a gun-wielding mass-murderer to start their carnage where the victims have no possible defense. This may be the case in Omaha.
December 5th, 2007 at 2:31 pmI live very close to this mall, infact i drove by it coming home from school. Its tragic that this has happened. The Gunman is a 19 year old that wanted to “go out in style”
December 5th, 2007 at 3:53 pmKind of sick and twisted
Its a sad day. some sick ass people out there
December 5th, 2007 at 5:12 pmI live in Omaha, and can perhaps give some insight here. As for the city of Omaha, I do believe you can carry a concealed firearm. The law was passed in Nebraska only a very short time ago, and though the mayor wanted to exempt the city, the city council voted in favor. As far as I can remeber that is how things stand right now.
The mall, however, I do believe had a no-weapons clause in the code of conduct, without any signs being posted. In fact, I bought some shotgun shells at a sporting goods store attachted to it, and the guy said I couldn’t walk through the mall with them, he’d have to hold them for me until I was going to leave.
December 5th, 2007 at 5:41 pmHave y’all noticed that whenever some gun control legistration is up before Congress or as is the case now with the DC case before the Supremes some “NUTCASE” uses a firearm to commit mayhem?
I’m begining to wonder if the D’rats are using mind control to incite these people.
December 5th, 2007 at 8:47 pmSuch a sad thing . . . I used to live in the Belton (Texas) neighborhood of the guy (George Hennard) who killed all the people in the Killeen Luby’s in 1991 - He used to harrass the teenage girls in our neighborhood - Clearly, he was jerk, but once again it was not recognized until it was too late . . . One of the ladies who was having lunch with her parents in the Lubys had a handgun in her car, but at that time it was against the law to take it into Luby’s. Both her parents were killed - she escaped. She ran for state office in order to change the gun laws - In Texas, we are serious about our second amendment rights - See video, Joe Horn, Pasadena, TX . . . I am thinking of her name - Suzanna Gratia Hupp - had to look it up (old age senility!) . . . Anyhow - Today, it reminded me of that day in Central Texas where a crazy guy killed a lot of innocent people and the gun was out in the car . . .
December 6th, 2007 at 12:26 amnewhumandesign,
Thanks for the info. I was wondering whether the new CCW law had been exempt in Omaha. Anyway, the mall’s gun restrictions had the same effect as the ones at Virginia Tech; they only restrict law abiding citizens from protecting themselves.
December 6th, 2007 at 9:53 amremember all, when they try to ‘gun control’ your ass you gotta respond in the manner that our forefathers have set as an example to all: that is, AIM and SQUEEZE…
