Everything in my life is so busy, demanding, and on the precipice of absolute greatness or failure, it’s kind of laughable. Fuckin’ soap opera straight through. Fucking furious about getting all the cut done just right because I’m editing in an Avid shop, and can’t take stuff home at night when fucking “editor’s hours’ are over and do shit my self, because I can only work on final cut pro, and the cut we’re finishing is on Avid. So I could be doing important shit on weekends and on late at night, which now can’t be done, and it’s driving me insane. This fucking problem has to get fixed, and we have to get it fixed fast. We can, it’s just a matter of us all pulling together and getting it done. In short, the post house needs to provide me a laptop with FCP on it, so I can take care of cuts right in the room that dB can eyematch on the Avid, and then output the AVID cut each day in FCP so I can get the show the best it can be by doing work at night after “Editor’s hours”. Not bitching about my peeps or support team, just saying we have to get this done.
There’s passion in my producing and post production team all around, but let’s face it, for many others on the series it’s a fuck of a lot more of “just another project”, then it is to me. To me it’s something with a lot more, and a lot bigger consquequences. I’m not happy with good enough, I’m happy with as perfect as we could get it, which produces “Holy Shit!”. That’s it.
Again, thanks to everyone working on this. Having gotten our kinks worked out, the team at the Scotts are great - - just back me up with that little extra, y’all ( and I’m talking to my pals in the post-house, not to my producers, ) when I need it please.

Fun trivia question of the day: which famous, and rather straight laced and serious, female coservative pudit and radio host, reaced to Dinesh D’Souza’s breaking up with her by taking his garden hose, slipping it through his front door mail slot, and turning the fucker on until it devestated the interior of his home?
I was wondering about the incompatibility of those two programs. It’s really weird. I don’t know why you can’t put raw footage into either program as needed. With audio, a wav file is wav file and can be imported into all those different sequencing programs like Nuendo, Sonar, and Protools with no problems. I don’t see why an AVI video file in one program can’t be imported into another if the file is saved and bounced down in AVI format as well. That’s the reason I sent you a video logo in AVI format and I used Premiere Pro2 to do it. BIZARRE! ????????
January 6th, 2008 at 3:11 amMuch as I would enjoy buying the vowels just to watch Vanna stroll across the board a few more times, I’d like to try and solve the puzzle Pat. I’m going to take a guess and go with fiesty Laura Ingraham.
January 6th, 2008 at 8:56 amI’m not going to reveal the winner till later.
January 6th, 2008 at 10:32 amYou mentioned that for your next death defying act you were going to stop smoking. Any luck? I decided to, for the millionth time to stop last week. Though I did have about six cigarettes, bummed from the barmaid, while having my weekly ration of four, turned out to be six, pints last Wednesday. Temporary relapse today. Ordered a cheesesteak and had them also deliver a pack. First one almost knocked me off the chair. I’ll smoke this pack by dawn and then get back on track. They’ll be raising my rent to $1021 starting in April. Been thinking of things to cut out or down on. I bought a health club membership three years ago and stopped going after six months. I know, I’ll cancel the membership. That’ll save $73. Have to go to the club to sign the cancellation. I said to my sister it was because of sheer laziness that I hadn’t gone the less than a mile to walk to the club. Then it hit me. Sheer laziness. I’ll only save $73 by stopping the membership, but, save $150 by stopping smoking. Giving up my last nasty habit may be the toughest.

Don’t forget that your producton staff does this for a living and will be doing it long after this project is done. If they were all Marines it would be done already, but they are not. I’m sure they are quietly not letting you rush through this important step. You’ll owe then a big thanks when they are done.
…and no! I was not paid by the staff to write that
January 6th, 2008 at 1:32 pmBob USMC, it’s all about codecs and wrappers. I’m surprised a post house does not have the talent to clarify what codecs and wrappers are and what you need to use. AVID codecs use Apple’s Quicktime wrapper(.mov) instead of Microsoft’s Audio Video Interleave wrapper(.avi). You can download the AVID codecs for use in Premiere (Windows or Mac) or FCP (Mac) using Quicktime here:
http://www.avid.com/onlineSupport/supportcontent.asp?productID=0&contentID=7952
Once installed every program that can use Quicktime can use these AVID codecs.
