10 Female Suicide Bombers Enter Diyala
Baaquba, Jan 21, (VOI) - The Diala chief of police said on Monday intelligence information indicated that ten female suicide bombers entered Diala.
“Intelligence tips assert that ten female bomber entered Diala to destabilize security situation there,” General Ghanem al-Qureshi told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI).
“Two of them are ready to blew themselves up inside the social services department, where scores of unemployed persons, widows, and orphans are receiving their salaries,” he added.
“Police forces intensified patrols and set up checkpoints near the department as a precautionary measure,” al-Qureshi said.
A female bomber had blown herself up last Wednesday amid the local marketplace in Khan Beni Saad district, killing eight persons and injuring seven.
Baaquba, the capital of Diala, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
