3 Little Pigs CD Banned From UK Awards For Fear Of Offending Muslims
Louie’s Uncle Louie is pissed…
From the Daily Mail:
A story based on The Three Little Pigs has been rejected by a Government-backed annual awards event because the subject matter could offend Muslims.
The digital book, retelling the classic fairytale by depicting pigs as builders, was criticised by a judging panel who claimed “the use of pigs raises cultural issues”.
They refused to shortlist the product which has already won awards and even claimed that The Three Little Cowboy Builders might also “alienate parts of the workforce (building trade)”.
But critics yesterday accused Becta, the Government’s educational technology agency, which jointly runs the awards along with Emap Education and the British Educational Suppliers Association (Besa), of “political correctness gone mad”.
PC gone too far. I loved that story, and unless they are eating the book, they have not broken any dietary laws have they?
January 23rd, 2008 at 6:03 pmMuhhammed said not to eat pork because there were no refrigerators in his time. Pork goes bad faster than other meats and many people would get deathly ill from eating spoiled pork, so this was made a rule in early Islamic society. Well, a few hundred years later the icebox and refrigerator became widely used, but I guess this part of Islam has not evolved to modern times, as much of it does not.
January 23rd, 2008 at 8:15 pmIsn’t amazingly that we have to be Politically Correct while the Islamic Fascists can burn our flag, behead people, and send suicide bombers to kill innocent people. And now the PC crowd are banning children story books. The ghosts of Hitler and Stalin are smiling again when they see the PC being used. Useful idiots they would say. Another chip of our freedom taken away….
