Dad Delivers Eye-For-Eye Justice For Daughter’s Sodomizer - Monkey Wrench
Like the girl in this story, my daughter is 8 years old. Officially, I can not condone taking the law into one’s own hands to deliver vigilante justice.
*cough*…(smile)
FORT WORTH — When the Arlington father caught his teenage stepson sexually assaulting his 8-year-old daughter late Jan. 2, investigators say the 32-year-old man did the right thing — he called police.
The 18-year-old was arrested by Arlington police on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault. The girl was taken to the hospital, where an examination revealed she’d been raped anally. And the father issued a stern warning to his wife.
“He didn’t want anybody to help (the teen),” said Sgt. Cheryl Johnson, supervisor of the Fort Worth sex crimes unit, adding that the man also stated that he would hurt his stepson.
But unbeknownst to the father, police say, the man’s wife posted bond for her son’s release from the Arlington jail. When the teen called home for a ride on the early afternoon of Jan. 3, it was his stepfather who answered the phone and arrived at the jail to pick up the teen.
But the pair didn’t go home, investigators say.
Instead, the Arlington man drove his stepson to an abandoned house in east Fort Worth where he delivered his own brand of justice. He severely beat the teen with a baseball bat, then anally raped him with a wrench-like metal tool.
On Friday, the father turned himself into the Tarrant County Jail on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault. He was released Saturday after posting a $17,500 bond.
“This is a very unique case, but we have a criminal justice system in place, and no one can take the law into their own hands,” Johnson said. “They need to allow the criminal justice system to work for them and although the process may seem long, it is the process that works.”
The Star-Telegram and Star-Telegram.com are not naming the father or the teen to protect the identity of the 8-year-old girl.
Johnson said after the sexual assault, the father left the scene. The stepson made his way to a pay phone, where he called police and was hospitalized.
That same day, investigators obtained a search warrant for the abandoned house in the 2700 block of Canberra Court near Cobb Park. Though boarded up, the pair made entry inside through a board that moved, Johnson said.
“We did find evidence at the scene to corroborate our victim’s story,” Johnson said.
Tarrant County court records show the father had received two years deferred adjudication probation in November 1996 after pleading guilty to burglary of a habitation.
As part of that plea-in-bar agreement, the man avoided prosecution on four other charges: possession of marijuana, theft by check, and two cases of assault with bodily injury.

January 15th, 2008 at 11:54 amOh my god.
Initially, I was torn, while reading this — but I can’t imagine the anguish that the father must have gone through when he discovered what had been done to his baby girl. In my book, that exonerates him.
Let’s face it, folks — since the teen was 18, he could have gotten off on something trivial, and this kind of crime warrants public emasculation and then being drawn and quartered… He got off easy — he lived.

He got off easy — he lived.
My thoughts exactly…..
January 15th, 2008 at 12:07 pmMy howntown . . . that mom who bailed her idiot son out of jail . . . also responsible for what happened her baby boy.
January 15th, 2008 at 12:45 pmWell, as a father of a 2 1/2 year old daughter all I can say is that father probably displayed more restraint that I believe I could have if.
I don’t know if that teenager would have made it to the Police station without a stop by the Hospitol in the first place.
January 15th, 2008 at 2:16 pmPoor girl. Justice was moderately served. In my eyes, vigilantes are better than those who do nothing… (The Justice System usually fails miserably… as does our Medical system (at least on my end))
January 15th, 2008 at 2:32 pmLet me get this straight: an adult (18 is an adult) sodomizes an 8yo, and he gets bail/bond?
And then asks the father of the victim to pick him up and take him back home to the house the girl lives in?
All I can think of is Pulp Fiction. A blowtorch and a pair of pliers sounds about right.
January 15th, 2008 at 4:42 pmare the husband and wife still together?
January 15th, 2008 at 6:29 pm@TicTicBoom: or in the case of King Edward II, a copper metal pipe up the ass through which a red hot poker was inserted into the bowels. Now that is what it means to get Medieval on someone’s ass….literally.
@EdgardHighmen: You said exactly what I was thinking. The justice system is so pathetic and most people really can’t afford it, that vigilante-ism is far more attractive (in the short-run). Publicity of this case, if it gathered enough steam, could see reforms made in criminal law in certain egregious states.
January 15th, 2008 at 7:16 pmThe father coulda/shouda taught that bastard to disappear up in smoke.
January 15th, 2008 at 8:04 pmUnfortunately the person who really looses in this situation, and three times at that, is the 8 year old girl. Not only was she raped, but now she has lost her father and unless custody is granted to a relative outside of this family, she will have to spend her life with a rapist step brother and a step mom who obviously does not care for the daughter as much as her son.
As much as I hate what the stepson did, the father lost his focus on what really mattered, and that is his daughter, not his pride.
I have a 2 year old daughter and as much as I want this bastard to die a slow and painfull death, I would never put my desire for revenge over my family’s well being.
Best you could hope for in this case is that word got out in prison that he was a child molester and he got the high hard one in the shower on a routine basis before somebody shanked him with a spoon!
January 15th, 2008 at 9:35 pmYea well the whole thing stinks…The father had questionable character which did not help in raising his step son…In other words, when idiots are given children to fuck up, the rest of society is left to deal with them….so instead of sticking a monkey wrench up a kids ass, where and what was he doing during his formidable years…Burglarizing
January 16th, 2008 at 5:04 amShane G - Good post. You are so right. I have not heard what has happened with the little girl, but she has lost from every direction you look at it.
January 16th, 2008 at 6:18 amNow that I think about it — that kid must be doubly stupid, thinking that he was safe being picked up by his step-father, and committing the atrocity that he did.
I hope that mother’s proud of herself.
@ jim:
Even if the father failed, he pretty much made sure that his stepson won’t be hurting any other little girls any time soon.
January 16th, 2008 at 6:22 amWhat is there to be torn about?
Stepson got less than he deserved.
Mom is stupid.
Applause for the dad.
