This is the first Democrat debate I have watched because I guess I need to know what they are going to do if they get elected . . . Previously, I felt confident that the Republicans would win - that conservatism would win - but with McCain, the Democrats will win so I need to know what they are thinking.
Regarding Healthcare - God - I wish someone would ask how we are going to get doctors (and nurses) to work for the government - I have worked for doctors and I can tell you that the good ones DO NOT accept the reduced reimbursements of Medicare and Medicaid.

Obama said in response to a question regarding black unemployment that he didn’t feel illegal immigration effected decreased wages or unemployment in the black community or any community - He feels that low wages and black unemployment are caused by the failed economic policies of the Bush administration AND that those poor folks are just coming here to work . . .

I don’t see how he can take that position though. Illegals are willing to work for less than the minimum wage with no benefits. How can they not affect wages and unemployment.
January 31st, 2008 at 7:02 pmI agree - I thought that was a totally naive position . . . Hillary at least acknowledged slightly that illegal immigration is driving down wages . . . BUT THEY ARE BOTH GOING TO CONTINUE TO GIVE THEM ALL A FREE RIDE FROM BREAKING OUR LAWS. It was crazy to watch. I couldn’t make it throught the whole thing - it is so contrary to everything I believe that it is painful - I don’t see how Bash watches the entire thing!
Maybe the next debate I can make it more than an hour.
