Iran To Announce Date Of Next Round Of Talks With U.S. On Iraq
Baghdad, Jan 28, (VOI) - Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Monday that Iran is studying the time for holding the fourth round of talks with the U.S. on Iraq and would announce it later.
He made the remarks in a press conference after returning from Davos, Switzerland, where he attended the annual World Economic Forum.
“U.S. commitment to the results of Iran-U.S. talks on Iraq as well as the effectiveness of the talks are Iran’s major considerations,” Iranian news agency IRNA quoted the minister as saying.
“Tehran has informed Washington through Iraqi authorities of its considerations over the next round of talks with the U.S. on Iraq,” IRNA added.
Mottaki said that the U.S. side has responded to Iran through the Iraqi authorities.
Iran and U.S. have so far held three rounds of talks about Iraq’s security situation.
The talks were respectively held on May 28, July 24, and August 6 with the participation of Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Kazemi Qumi, his U.S. counterpart Ryan Crocker, and representatives of the Iraqi government.
