Man, my eye is screwed up, today I am going to try to really follow Dr.’s orders and keep head down while sitting for the required 4-6 hours a day. I’m kind of out of it, but as fate seems to always have it, all this comes while I have a plethora of major challenges to overcome. Fortunately, took care of many if not most of them yesterday, which is why instead of being a statue as ordered, I was a whirling dirvish. Things are okay, and I’m certainly not feeling sorry for myself, but the humorous thought did pop into my head that if no good deed goes unpunished, then does that mean that the better the deed, the greater the punishment?
12:00 P.M.
Anybody up for writing a new Reader’s Post? There must be something on your mind.
Pat -
As much as I think you’d look rather “nasty HOT” with an eye patch … I rather you DIDN’T!
Stay down, take your meds, and catch up on some rest. Looks as if G-d has already made the tough decision for ya.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:24 amWe’re pullin for ya, Pat!
January 18th, 2008 at 11:16 amThe rain falls on the just and unjust alike Pat. Follow those orders and things will work out fine. those few weeks will be over before you know it.
January 18th, 2008 at 12:22 pmJesus Drillanwr! Don’t give him ideas!
January 18th, 2008 at 1:20 pmThe eyepatch idea could be really counter productive! Pat, if I was anywhere close I would volunteer my time to do for you, whatever needed to be done since I’m out of work at the moment but I’m in STL so I’ll just keep praying that you wise the hell up and sit still for just a while.
TBinSTL,
ROFLMAO at DrillAnwr already regarding her last comment on the 17th under “Deep thoughts”, only followed by the first comment here for today.
Ehm, bear-traps Drillanwr? May I ask what medication you’re on or did I realy mis something. (Being blond and female might be the reason )
Nevertheless,
Hallelujah!! Pat has seen “the light” (with or without eye-patch, I don’t care.)
TO PAT:
January 18th, 2008 at 1:48 pmYOU SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME MAN. I ALREADY GAVE UP ON YOU AND YOUR COMMON SENSE. BUT, LEARNED MY LESSON, WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN
AFTER YOUR EXPLANATION HERE NOW I UNDERSTAND. STILL, YOU “PLAYED WITH HIGH STAKES”. AND, YOU WON. TO YOU, NOW RTB-ED. TAKE YOUR TIME TO RECOVER PROPERLY, GAVE UP MY BLACKMAIL-PLAN.
Pat I started one last night, you should get it late Saturday
January 18th, 2008 at 1:57 pmPat, make nest. Move slowly, bend at the waist attaining a face down attitude when moving about, especially traveling in the car. The prescription of 4-6 hours supine can be satisfied while sleeping. I slept semi-reclined on the couch, supported from toppling to the side by pillows. I gained a benefit, patience, from the experience while I learned I wasn’t required to wake up the sun or put it to bed daily. Hmmm?
Take good care of this condition for the duration of the healing and it won’t last forever. Remember, not too long ago a retinal detachment had no possible repair options. The retina detached and sight in that eye was lost. Gone leaving only the perception of light. THAT WOULD SUCK!
Take care brother. You will see this through.

No “meds” … just slight “damage” from un-prescribed “meds” in my VERY younger days …
“Bear-trap”, as in my mind’s ability to catch different parallel thoughts that can be connected (connecting dots …).
Being blonde and female has its covert and camouflaged advantages, hun, as you well know.
As for the eye patch … While Dollard would make a cool looking pirate, I’d much rather have both his eyes functioning for all the work he has ahead of him. (In other words, I was trying to scare the shit out of him that IF he didn’t take care he might be shopping for the patch in the future …)
January 18th, 2008 at 2:44 pmPAT - “WHIRLING DIRVISH” WTF?!? MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH BASH SENDING YOU THE HOT NURSE.
Steve - Looking forward to the read…
January 18th, 2008 at 4:07 pmPat I am glad you are going to try to follow orders. It sux big time to have to go through this right now with all the things you have on your mind. Hang tough - you will heal quicker and better as long as you do not overdo it.
“. . . does that mean that the better the deed, the greater the punishment?”
Sometimes.
I can’t wait to read what you have prepared for us Steve in NC.
January 18th, 2008 at 6:35 pmThanks again, everybody. Good advice, Zeke.
