Suicide Bomber Hits “Got Out Of Jail” Party In Fallujah Living Room
Anbar, Jan 20, (VOI) – Five civilians were killed and five others wounded in a suicide bombing attack that targeted a gathering of well-wishers on the release of a detained local resident near Falluja on Sunday, a police officer in Anbar province said.
“The suicide bomber blew himself up inside the house of Hadi Hussein in Amiriyat al-Falluja on Sunday afternoon,” the officer, who asked not to have his name mentioned, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI).
“A group of civilians were congratulating Hussein for his release from a U.S. detention center, where he stayed for a week,” the source said, adding “Hussein was killed in the attack and three of the five wounded are in a serious condition.”
Local policemen cordoned off the area while other patrols rushed the victims to the Falluja public hospital to receive treatment, the source said.
Amiriyat al-Falluja was a stronghold of al-Qaeda network members before they had been flushed out by tribal Sahwa (Awakening) fighters and policemen in the city.
Falluja, the largest city in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, is 45 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
Maybe he snitched. That’s a shame.
