Video: Exposing Fake Military Heroes
Atlantic City Mayor, Robert Levy falsely claimed to be a Green Beret.
John Wayne wasn’t a real Green Beret either. But that’s OK, it was a movie.
Nods to drillanwr.
See … WE have a responsibility to our military men/women to cover their backs.
Our military has always been so much political and bull shit fodder for Hollywood, politicians, and the left. While the majority of them live silently after serving, we know this sort of shit wounds them deeper than any thing they could have sustained on the battle field.
G-d bless men like Former Navy SEAL Steve Robinson who has taken on this misson on the homefront to save and uphold the integrity of our military!
IF the MSM even tried to bother to do the sort of research and investigating (see the NYTimes who would rather cook numbers AGAINST our troops) this man and his people do the MSM would blow a major artery in what little brain they have … simply due to the effort and intelligence needed to do such work.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:31 amNice, I am going to buy that book this weekend.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:33 amBetter bring in John Kerry and Harry Reid to defend those phony heroes.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:35 amAnother following the tradition of B.G.Burkett’s book “Stolen Valor” Good !
January 18th, 2008 at 10:01 am@USMC Beans:
Another good read is “Stolen Valor” by B.G. Burkett. He focuses mainly on Vietnam era imposters, but a good book nontheless.
A few months ago, I met someone at a party who claimed to be a SEAL. He was running off at the mouth pretty good, talking about what he “did” in Iraq. I played along, asking stupid questions and going “WOW! Really?!….”, etc. When he found out I served in the Marine Corps he went silent, turned twelve shades of red, and excused himself. What a shitbird.
The phonies almost never claim they were just in the military. No sir. They were Delta Operators, SEALs, Force Recon, Rangers, SF, Airborne… and of course they won the Medal of Honor, Victoria Cross, AND the SuperBowl while serving in Afghanistan, Vietnam, Iraq, and the Kursk Salient.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:20 amJust how many low life scum bags named John Kerry are there?
January 18th, 2008 at 12:09 pmSorry for the repeated reference to the BG Burkett book. ArleighB beat me to it. I must have missed it. Getting old I guess.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:04 pmI’ve run into a few over the years. I’m not and never have been a physically imposing person. Just through casual conversation it’s easy to pick up on those that aren’t all they’re cranked up to be. But, I’ve learned to at the second you detect fraud it’s best to get away from them. They can’t deal with people my size having really done it and they viciously turn. If it doesn’t sound right, it isn’t.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:39 pmJohn, big phonies are no less affected by a busted larnyx than little ones and you don’t have to be big to administer the coup. Fuck them if they are the joke.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:48 pmZekeEagle, don’t think there were a few times I wished I had. I think of them as sick.
January 18th, 2008 at 3:26 pmFrom an article by Warner Todd Huston (writer of NewsBusters article shown in above clip):
In 1997 a body was quietly removed from its grave in Arlington Cemetery, the nation’s military burial grounds. It was the body of M. Larry Lawrence, a long time campaign donor to president Bill Clinton. Lawrence was such a big donor, in fact, that Clinton rewarded him with the Ambassadorship to Switzerland as a payoff for his generosity.
Bill Clinton stood by a phony soldier because of the large amounts given to him. Clinton also heavily rewarded this liar with prestigious appointments (Ambassador to Switzerland) and special dispensation to be buried among REAL heroes in Arlington Cemetery.
During one of the presidential debates, Al Gore claimed his uncle had been “gassed” in Bosnia during WWI. When fact checkers went back to verify Gore’s claims, no one could find any Gore’s that had even been in WWI, much less had been “gassed” in Bosnia.
Harkin (Sen Tom Harkin - D Iowa) would know a little something about phony soldiers. It turns out he IS one. At various times during his political career, Harkin has been heard to boast about his service as a Navy pilot during Vietnam. He has made all sorts of contradictory claims, but at one time he claimed to have flown “combat air patrols.”
“That clearly is not an accurate picture of his Navy service. Though Mr. Harkin stresses he is proud of his Navy record — ‘I put my ass on the line day after day’ — he concedes now he never flew combat air patrols in Vietnam.” — Wall Street Journal
