“McCain is not the candidate conservatives can trust”
His purported success in the primaries is a mystery to me…
January 24th, 2008 at 3:45 pmForget the economy, forget the war, a candidate who can secure the border and clean up the mess our schitzophrenic policies have made will win. McCain has done as well as he has for two reasons:
#1: Independents voting in primaries, which falls under the category of BAD IDEA.
#2: While I don’t want to accuse his supporters of being morons, the only other reason to support him is if they don’t know his history. Once word gets out, watch his numbers tank. Like the Democrats, his biggest advantage is the ignorance of the American people, aided and abbetted by the Leftist media.
The fool actually thinks the media likes him. Compared to conservatives, they do. If he goes head-to-head with Comrade Hillary or B. Hussien Obama, they’ll turn on him so fast his head’ll spin. Unlike Bush, he’s the vindictive sort, so we’ll probably see a new Nixon, without the redeeming qualities (Nixon was actually conservative).
Don’t get me wrong, I’d still vote for him in November, but I’d have a clothespin on my nose while I did it. I’d be much happier voting for Rudy, who, while having some liberal leanings and positions, is staunchly conservative on the most important issues.
For all you social cons: the most important action a president can take to accomplish your goals is who he appoints to the Supreme Court. Rudy has repeatedly sworn to appoint strict constructionist justices. You might doubt him, but he’s a law enforcement guy. They HATE activist judges far more than you do. Imagine risking your life to bring a murdering, raping, drug dealing waste of life to justice, only to see him set free to wreak more havoc, again and again.
I’m sure that McCain would have a easier time getting his nominees confirmed. Are you eager to have another Kennedy or Souter on the Court, instead of a Scalia or Alito? McCain or Huckabee are your guys. Romney I’m not too sure of, but he’s my second choice now that Thompson and Hunter are out.

January 24th, 2008 at 5:18 pmWhile I was on kiddie car pool duty today, I was listening to Michael Medved pushing forth the McCain candidacy . . . and it was a shallow and whiney bunch crap. I don’t usually listen to Michael Medved, but had the station there from the morning car pool and left it there, giving him a shot at explaining his support of McCain . . . Medved kept claiming that McCain is a conservative, but had no evidence – no real and truthful evidence. You can claim it all you want, but if you are a VOTE WATCHER like I am – yes, I look at every senate vote and every house vote, every day (they are in session) – call me nerdy, but I will base my decisions on the fact of the vote and not on what some pundit tells me to think - the vote is the truth . . . McCain is mostly a liberal and that is the truth based on his votes.
Now for Medved – One day last summer a caller from Texas wanted to discuss the “super highway” travesty and how Mexican truckers were going to be given access to our highways . . . Michael Medved said that it was not true – it was just a crazy rumor . . . that was the very week my two Texas senators voted with President Bush to open up I-35 to Mexican truckers with limited inspection . . . Mr. Medved clearly was not very informed and that is why I usually don’t listen to him.
January 24th, 2008 at 5:33 pmticticboom - I am with you - It will be very interesting how well McCain does in states which only allow Republicans to vote for Republicans . . . this allowing non-Republicans to vote in a Republican primary is idiotic.
I agree with your post 100% - although I keep stating that I will NEVER vote for McCain (or Huckabee) . . . I might have to do the clothespin thing and utilize some medicinal sedation and go to the polls to vote for McCain - IF I MUST - I just hope conservatives come together and get serious about taking back the Republican Party.
Based on the “Gang of 14″ (If you don’t know what that is, you are not paying close enough attention) - McCain will NOT aggressively push non-liberal judges - and the Supreme court will head back left and babies will continue to be murdered in-utero and God will continue to be assaulted in the courts.
. . . but all that is really just funny to some McCain lovers.
