Your Opinion Wanted: Best Republican Ticket P/VP For General Election?
OK, so I would have liked to see Duncan Hunter do better, but let’s be honest, he’s not going to be President. I think he would make a great VP or head up Homeland Security.
So for those of you who have made up your minds already about your pick for the Presidential Nomination. Who would you like to see them pick as a running mate?
And for those of you still undecided, like me, is there any ticket combo where you would say “I’ll vote for them.”?
John Wayne for president
January 18th, 2008 at 9:55 amGeorge Allen(POTUS) and Rick Santorum (VP)
January 18th, 2008 at 10:01 amSecond choice: Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter
Sarkozy for president
January 18th, 2008 at 10:01 amThompson / Nussle
January 18th, 2008 at 10:02 amFranchie, Sarkozy is already president. just not this countrys president haha.
Now to our president. Thats a tough question to pick the CIC and the vice. I wouldnt mind seeing Thompson and Romney together. One would have the balls to stand up to the land of the savages and the other could keep the economy rolling smoothly. And you know who is who in my description.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:06 amCharlene, George Allen. Wow! thats a great idea. I was just answering out of the choices we have right now. But george Allen is the man.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:09 amThompson/McCain
January 18th, 2008 at 10:11 amI too would like a Thompson/Hunter ticket. But maybe too “Conservative-ish” for the General election. Maybe Rudy/Thompson or Rudy/Hunter.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:14 amI don’t know. What do you think?
Kurt,
But Sarkozy has an unlimited ambition, he is becoming next president of EU, then of America ; that would solve the problems of ego sensibilities : “un pour tous tous pour un” (one for all, all for one) d’Artagnan
January 18th, 2008 at 10:16 amI’ll stick with a Romney/Thompson ticket which is a better possibility today than what I’d really want.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:19 amFred Thompson & Duncan Hunter
January 18th, 2008 at 10:21 amFred Thompson for President and General Mattis for VP. We are in a war that is going to last a LOOOONNNGGGG time, so we need a warrior at the top!
January 18th, 2008 at 10:27 amIdeal: Tommy Franks & David Petraeus
More realistic: Fred Thompson & Duncan Hunter
Charlene, I too would of loved to see Allen on the ticket. We miss him here, believe me.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:27 amRomney/McCain maybe. But only if they appoint that crazy Ann Colter to a cabinet position.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:38 amMcCain/Hunter
January 18th, 2008 at 10:39 amTHOMPSON/CHENEY
Just a thought
January 18th, 2008 at 10:48 amThompson/Romney keep Condi and make Rudy Sect of defense
January 18th, 2008 at 10:56 amDon’t count out Hunter, just because the Media wants him out. He is concerned about CHINA and bad trade agreements, that does not fit their agenda!
Hunter is on TOP on this Nevada Poll where the media couldn’t ignore him.
http://towncriernews.blogspot.com/
Duncan Hunter has been able to spend time in Nevada and go around the media who excludes him from the discussion. This is what happens when the people are allowed to hear and see a GOOD candidate. Have you seen any republican beat everyone even the dems in a poll??
34% Duncan Hunter
19% Ron Paul
14% Mitt Romney
10% Barack Obama
7% Hillary Clinton
6% Fred Thompson
3% John Edwards
2% John McCain
2% Dennis Kucinich
1% Rudolph Giuliani
1% Mike Huckabee
Nevada Caucus poll
January 18th, 2008 at 10:57 amJan 16 08 - 10:06 AM
Who do you plan to support in Saturday’s caucus?
Thompson/HUnter or Hunter/Thompson
January 18th, 2008 at 11:20 amThere’s this assumption that our only choices are from the current list of candidates when in actuality, that is only guaranteed to happen if we have a “brokered” caucus.
Personally, I would love to see a Fred Thompson - George Allen ticket.
We would then of course we need to see a few more stars on Gen. Petreus’ shoulder boards. It’s been a long time since we had a real strong General of the Army/Chairman of the Joint Chiefs that had enough smarts and political clout to trump the sec def. Mainly, I just wish they’d stop putting aviators and sailors in charge of grunts - so far they’ve haven’t done too well.
January 18th, 2008 at 11:28 amFred Thompson and Jack Welch (former CEO of GE)or Neil Cavuto (Fox News Business)
January 18th, 2008 at 11:28 amFred/Newt
January 18th, 2008 at 11:48 am007: McCain/Hunter
January 18th, 2008 at 12:16 pm_______
agreed!!
Hunter Thompson
January 18th, 2008 at 12:32 pmFred Thompson/ William Bennett
January 18th, 2008 at 1:01 pmHunter Thompson
January 18th, 2008 at 1:04 pmFred\Newt with Petreus Secy Def.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:12 pmor
Fred\Petreus
Romney, Guilliani or Thompson, can’t narrow it down to two.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:12 pmThompson, and whoever Thompson would like to run with.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:36 pmHow about Pat Paulson & Rich Little? Ooops…Pat’s dead but Rich Little can do a great Reagan.
Seriously, of the current contenders either Thompson/Romney or Romney/Thompson. I think Romney will be the nominee. He has the right experience and he’s not too, too liberal for me.
I think that Gingrich should be in the next administration. He has the best ideas, except he has bought into the idiotic leftists’ man-made globaloney theory. May he could be the Secretary of Peace…er…State.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:56 pmJohn McCain/Ted Nugent
January 18th, 2008 at 2:13 pmI wouldn’t worry about balancing the ticket. The President and VP should be on the same page.
Romney/Rudy would go over pretty well, they’re both fiscal conservatives, Rudy has great national security credentials, and Mitt knows how to run an economy. Social cons will bitch about them being liberal, but they had to get elected in the bluest of blue states (the fact that they succeeded should count in their favor).
Thompson/McCain: Fred’ll make a great president, and it’ll get McAmnesty out of the Senate.
Huckabee/Paul: puts our nuts on one ticket that will scorch the earth, which will at least make rebuilding easier.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:16 pmP: Fred Thompson
VP: Newt Gingrich or Duncan Hunter
I would like to see Newt help drive the agenda for the next presidency.
This field of talking heads are a joke - anyone but Thompson/Hunter/Gingrich are pathetic - on either side of the aisle.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:35 pmThompson/Hunter
January 18th, 2008 at 3:00 pmI shudder every time I hear “McCain”,… you guys better wise up ASAP ….
Hunter/Petraeus/Newt/Keyes ,, any combo
If not:
January 18th, 2008 at 3:08 pmHowdy Doody and Clarabelle
1st choice - Thompson/Bolton
2nd choice - Romney/Thompson
January 18th, 2008 at 3:57 pmNO McCAIN, NO JUDYANNI, NO HUCKLEBERRY, NO RUE PAUL!
Thompson/Hunter or Romney/Hunter
Thompson is more conservative.
Romney has the best chance to bust Hitlary’s nuts.
January 18th, 2008 at 4:15 pmThompson/pawlenty
January 18th, 2008 at 4:36 pmMy bet is it will be McCain/Thompson
January 18th, 2008 at 5:07 pmgiuliani/mccain
giuliani/romney
January 18th, 2008 at 7:08 pmHow about Michael Steele as V.P.? I’m starting to believe that the African-Ameican vote is ripe for the picking and has been taken for granted by the Traitorous Party. The African-American community has been assaulted by Great Society and the Democratic welfare state and is ready for a change to those who stress the best way forwad is traditonal values and individual, hard work.
January 18th, 2008 at 7:32 pmFred Thompson/Wayne LaPierre
January 18th, 2008 at 7:41 pmThompson - Dollard 08
January 18th, 2008 at 7:53 pmWhats with all the Hunter stuff? Don’t waste a vote on a wish candidate, vote for a viable one. A Southerner will not succeed outside of Dixie even tho they have previously i.e. Jimmah Carter. Look at who can conceivably win but is closest to your ideals. We are split into a hundred different factions. Lets take this to heart: United we stand (win, divided we fall (lose) and the US loses dearly.
January 18th, 2008 at 8:52 pmFRED/NEWT! Please folks, lets make this happen.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:14 pmDollard/Bashman 08!
January 18th, 2008 at 9:31 pmJUDITH let me guess Mitt or julie anny
GO FRED with John Bolton as high cabinet member
January 18th, 2008 at 9:32 pmVP choice would be anyone that will bring votes but in the end
they don’t matter.
I totally forgot about Bolton - he better be included in the next administration!
January 18th, 2008 at 10:03 pmFred/Rudy or Rudy/Fred!
Newt is dead to me after I heard him yapping about “greenhouse gases” on Rush’s show yesterday!
January 18th, 2008 at 11:46 pmI also love George Allen and would love to see him do something in the next REPUBLICAN Administration.
president: 1. Duncan, 2 Fred or Rudy,
January 19th, 2008 at 2:05 amvice: any those above or romney
Thompson is my guy and has been since the start of this primary gaggle. However, I don’t see him rising out of the ashes to get the nom. UNFORTUNATELY, it looks as if the very definition of RINO..McCain has the mojo. SOOOOO…might I suggest a McCain/Thompson ticket to whip Hildabeast’s ass in November. Definitely not my first choice, but ANY Republican combo is better then a Dem on office.
