Baghdad, Feb 29 (VOI) – Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to pay a two-day state visit to Iraq on Sunday, the first ever by an Iranian president to Iraq since the outbreak of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran, a spokesman for the Iraqi government said on Friday.
“The Iranian president will be accompanied by a delegation comprising the ministers of foreign affairs, finance and electricity as well as other senior officials,” Ali al-Dabbagh told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI).
Dabbagh ruled out the issues of border demarcation and oilfields would be discussed during the Iranian leader’s visit.
“The visit would not discuss this issue because it was already deliberated by a joint committee to lay landmarks on the ground borders between the two countries,” he said, noting “the issue of the river borders was also discussed by another committee.”
On the joint oilfields, Dabbagh referred to “an invitation to have joint investments in those fields.”
An Iranian delegation had arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday to prepare for Ahmadinejad’s visit. The delegation comprised representatives of several Iranian ministries including the foreign affairs, energy, oil and transport.

Yep, then what? Everyone in Iran would think it was America’s fault and probably declare a full out war. The rest of the middle east would think the same. It would not be good.
February 29th, 2008 at 8:23 pm[[It would not be good.]]
Joes correct. We need to kill him in Iran and make it look like someone else did it.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:17 pm@ Joe “Yep, then what? Everyone in Iran would think it was America’s fault and probably declare a full out war. The rest of the middle east would think the same. It would not be good.”
True Joe, but if it did go that way then at least things would be overt instead of all of this puppet theater and posturing going on behind the scenes and in the shadows.
The only real problem I would see with his ass getting whacked is the Sunni will do it and then blame it on us. We take the blame in the court of world public opinion thanks to our tough rhetoric, and they get the victory.
I suspect if anything, as much as we want to see him dead, the US will do everything that it can to keep him from getting killed IN Iraq.
Or how about this? He goes over there on his own martyrdom mission and his own al-Quds guys whack him and blame it on us.
That would really mix up the game then… No matter what, if he dies in Iraq (or even gets attacked) we lose… and I think he knows it.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:33 pmOK, that picture is reason for serious consideration to use sun screen. Yikes!
February 29th, 2008 at 11:55 pmJoe & deathstar, I’m w/you. It needs to be arranged that he’s wacked in Iran. God I hope we, the Israeli’s, or even (gulp) the frenchie’s have some folks in Iran that can do it or arrange it before years end.
March 1st, 2008 at 9:32 amHad the US not liberated Iraq from Saddam Hussein, this Iranian whackjob would never be able to set foot in Iraq and create “history”. He doesn’t realize that at all, that little twit.
March 2nd, 2008 at 3:08 pmI feel angry that he’s there, because he’s a terrorist bastard who’s responsible for so many of the troops’ deaths.
