They, of course, would never admit that it is BECAUSE of the USMC that they have the freedom to behave like total fucking idiots. It is quite telling that at the same time, the greatest fear of the city of Hit, in Iraq, is that the Marines who protect them will leave.

As a Canadian immigrant, and now a proud American citizen, I read with awe and dismay that your city council would treat the Marine corps with such distain. My daughter, who is still a Canadian citizen, will leave for boot camp training in 1 week. She is almost 20 years old. She wishes to defend your freedom, and was called, NOT by any recruiters, but by her own dear heart to serve THIS country and its freedom.
My question to you is “please tell me your reasoning in wanting to silence your defenders, and listen to those who will step on our flag in public and insult the Marines”.
I await your explanations - each and every one of you.
My hope is that the decisions you make will not hurt the people you serve - the citizens of the United States. My “image” of you as a group, is one that was in the movie “Independence Day”, when the smiling “welcomers” stood atop the building when the aliens came to destroy us. They were all wide-eyed with open arms, only to be extinguished out of existence.
Our enemy - the terrorists who are plotting against us every minute of the day - is REAL, truly hates us, and wishes to destroy us. When that day comes, and it will come, when they once again hit our country with extreme force, it is our Marines, and all of the other armed forces that will indeed defend us, despite your actions today, despite your current decisions, and they will come to rescue you with honor and dignity. You and your children will depend on them.
Why do you wish to silence them?

In fact almost the whole city took their web pages down, and it appears to be at their own choice. Link this as much as you can and get the google hits up. These scared little girls need to get some email letting them know how real americans feel.

Its true, the City Council hates them, too.

These fools have their heads in the ground or up where the sun don’t shine as always. The U.S. Marines have served this nation from the revolution to this day. The past is littered with their graves. The way I see it, if they feel the way they do then they should take a shot at defending themselves next time the bad guys come around. Just imagine what our country and the world would be like if there were no Marines. These little liberal wimpy whiners would soon wither without them. I hear Riyadh has a nice dry climate and welcomes American girls and boys. We should ceed Berekley to them.

I applaud Mr. Dennard and the other companies that have decided to boycott businesses located in Berkeley. I think, however, that when the Berkeley City Council succumbs to pressure from the local businesses that will be feeling the economic wrath of this boycott and reverses their positon on the recruiting issue that these businesses continue their boycott. A slap on the hand isn’t enough. Berkeley should be punished for putting people of this ilk in charge of their city government in the first place. With enough pressure from Berkeley’s business community they will surely be able to convince their city leaders(?) to resign and be replaced by a legitimate government of (all) the people.

February 12th, 2008 at 9:08 amThank you for this valuable information. I have emailed the council and expressed my personal outrage. I have seen a lifetime of the far-left wackiness that is Berkeley. Now, they are claiming only to be opposed to the “behavior of recruiting”? Me too, I would call for the immediate suspension of recruiting “student athletes” and other young impressionable senior high school students to the anti-American institution which is UC Berkeley where they teach revisionist history and brainwash our young people with a radical, far-left agenda.
Does anyone else ever think that what this country needs is a good civil war? Please understand, that is not what I’m advocating, I’d settle for the withholding of any and all tax dollars from their community coffers and other forms of boycott.
