I say strip them down to pencils and paper . . .

My husband is a junior high teacher and when hundereds of their kids walked out to protest in surport of amnesty and Mexico last year . . . they got a zero for the day . . . No I would have preferred expulsions . . . but a zero was pretty good considering the liberal-minded, Latino loving school district my husband works in.

There were kids on both sides of the issue — its just that the pro-Marine kids already cared about the issue before they were offered orange bandannas and the chance to ditch school.

The up side of all this nonsense has been that anti-anti-war protester kids have begun to make contact with one another and now have support they weren’t getting from the school, and certainly not from the teachers.
