Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing.
Oldest daughter is an RN in the neuro-surg ICU … THEY call them (bikes) “organ donors” … They’ve seen enough come through her unit.
BTW, she graduated high school in 2003 … She’s going to a classmates funeral Tuesday … He died the other day (we’d had some freezing some such over night) when his car slid on the freeway and slammed into the back of a salt truck … But it gets even more bizarre … It was the same stretch of highway where my daughter had totaled her car on her way to college class under similar conditions a few years ago, but she had hit and ridden the guard rail …
WAIT now … This guy’s accident the other morning … following behind him, unknowingly, was one of my daughter’s girlfriends heading to the same college class for nursing! She stopped after witnessing the accident and to help, but he had been killed instantly … and then she realized it was a friend of theirs …
There’s more … While they were still in h.s. he had been riding in the back seat of my daughter’s car when she was [mildly] rear-ended at a local traffic light.
My daughter’s h.s. graduating class had nearly 500 … From sophomore year (the year she lost two of her best girlfriends in a car accident where there had been four of them in the car … and the other two were lucky to walk away … eventually) on `til now we have lost count of how many from her class have died in their cars. And I can’t even begin to count the number of them that were lucky enough to survive their crashes …
