London Theater Chain Bans “Rambo” - With “First Blood” Trailer
I first saw this movie in the middle of the Bering Sea, one of the ‘83 patrols, had to be.
Fuckin’ Russians.
Movies every night underway, on the mess deck, but there was no video. We had this “Morale Locker” and one of the boot ensigns was in charge of it. It was full of movies on reels. The big reels. Was awesome.
We ate this film up.
LONDON — Odeon, the U.K.’s biggest exhib chain, will not show Sony’s new release “Rambo” at its theaters this weekend, citing undisclosed “commercial reasons.”
News has sent shockwaves around the local industry as “Rambo” is the frame’s most significant new release in the U.K. News has also enraged online Sylvester Stallone fans, especially those who live in rural areas where their only local cinema is an Odeon.

Give me just one more reason to write off the Brits. Please. Just one more reason.
February 22nd, 2008 at 3:57 pmI’ve seen this movie twice now and it is possibly the best of the series(I’d say it is). This is the kind of PR you couldn’t buy, the movie will do very, very well and likely better because of this.
February 22nd, 2008 at 3:59 pmone of the best movies ever. I love it
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:04 pmGonna see it soon, been too busy. The first preview looked like the goriest, hence best, Rambo yet. The scene where he annihilates that guy in a jeep with a fifty (mounted in the SAME jeep, behind the guy) at point blank range had me laughing my ass off.
And yea, fuck the Brits. 85% of em anyway.
ps First Blood is one of the best movies of all time.
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:38 pmWassah matter, some muzzies shown in an honest, murderin’, destructive way? Britain, better get real before y’all are in deep shit, or is it too late?
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:40 pmFuck the multicultural idiots. On the other hand this is a great reason to go see the movie, or rent it…just because some asshole prevents it’s showing. Might have a good effect on Brit sales.
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:41 pmI haven’t seen it, but I take it that Rambo inflicts mass carnage on Moooslem Jihadis?
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:01 pmNo. He heads up to Burma to fight some crazy commie regime.
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:16 pmAhhhh….not near as much fun.
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:20 pmrofl! Some action flick made by an ageing has-been gets taken off the show list and you all start crying?
Bless!
Lighten up. This is the best thing that could have happened to Sly’s latest attempt at getting back into his 80’s schwing. Now even more people will want to see it, to find out exactly how terrible it is.
Not that anyone actually cares that the reason ODEON are not showing it is over a dispute with Sony. *rolls eyes*
February 27th, 2008 at 11:32 amLive for nothing-or Die for something…..I think this is the very best Rambo of them all.Why is that sentence significant. The film was banned for “commercial Reason’s”-sure it was -it’s one greedy scrooge who can’t be assed to pay more money. This is being so hyped up now that someone will screen it,just to say up your’s .It will be the biggest film watched soon.Sly must me madder than all of us-and rightly so.Well Sly if you are reading any of this,I love you man-and I love what you do for the film industry.Odeon keep telling us the law out here it’s us ,don’t push us all we will give you a wound you won’t believe.Rambo forever.
February 28th, 2008 at 7:48 amHi people,it’S Richard again-forgot to say that I am setting up a web page soon..will keep you posted.
