Secondly, this is not a Marine field trip, it is heavily planned and intrusive in our area. I know this because about three winters ago I walked out of a downtown building to find Marines walking around the streets in patrol mode. You know what I thought? Shit's going down. In reality, nothing was happening but the slow and gradual move towards a defenseless civilian population and a hyper active military population. We have the strongest and best funded military in the world. They do not need to be active in civilian areas for ANY reason at this time. I do not want my kids growing up thinking that military patrols on the streets is the norm. You want to talk about doing something good for the soldiers, lobby your congressman for more military scholarships and veterans support. Secondly, this is not a Marine field trip, it is heavily planned and intrusive in our area. I know this because about three winters ago I walked out of a downtown building to find Marines walking around the streets in patrol mode. You know what I thought? Shit’s going down. In reality, nothing was happening but the slow and gradual move towards a defenseless civilian population and a hyper active military population. We have the strongest and best funded military in the world. They do not need to be active in civilian areas for ANY reason at this time. I do not want my kids growing up thinking that military patrols on the streets is the norm. You want to talk about doing something good for the soldiers, lobby your congressman for more military scholarships and veterans support. Quit acting like a bunch of 3rd graders parroting the same “ass clown” “fucktard” comments. Those rights have been given as inalienable rights and further enforced by the Constitution. I sleep well at night knowing that the National Guard and police are ready (or should be) to help in a relief situation if Congress authorizes it. I similarly sleep just fine knowing that the Marines are doing their job. The Military was never meant to patrol the citizenry, there are well reasoned laws about that.
