It’s a shame they won’t let that pictured train, the Acela, travel at it’s top speed of 150mph. They spent a fortune putting in those welded rails specifically for those trains and the local principalities didn’t want a train running by their town at 150, they had to keep it at 125. I think there’s some at road level crossings north of New York, but the rest from New York to Washington the train doesn’t cross any roads anywhere. Costs more for the newer train but, don’t get there any faster than the older Metroliners.
