TOKYO (AP) - Public broadcaster NHK says one person was stabbed to death and at least seven others were injured by a man who went on a knifing spree at a shopping mall in eastern Japan.
The stabbings occurred in the city of Tsuchiura on Sunday. Seven people were injured and an eighth died as he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
NHK reported that police captured the alleged attacker, described as a 24-year-old jobless man, at the scene.

Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn’t matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. Agreeing with them, we said it doesn’t matter to me what anyone, including the President, does in private as long as I have a job and the economy is good.
Then someone said let’s print magazines with pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body. And we said OK.
And then someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children , then further again by making them available on the Internet. And we said OK, they’re entitled to free speech.
Then the entertainment industry said, let’s make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. Let’s record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said it’s just entertainment, it has no adverse effect, nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead.
Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with “WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.”

Jabir Herbert Muhammad filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on Friday against Rezko, his longtime friend and business associate.
According to the suit, Muhammad and his wife made Rezko the trustee of their private and business affairs.
The suit alleges Rezko used the couple’s home and fast-food business for his own means, selling some of it and using it as collateral.
The lawsuit is asking for control of the home and an injunctive relief.
A message left for Rezko’s attorney Saturday evening wasn’t immediately returned.

Personally, I’m not a fan of any of the AR-10/15 descendants (which going into the military these days, will almost certainly be the family of assault rifles/carbines I’ll be using). Marvelously accurate, I know, but I hate the direct impingement system. Not too fond of the 5.56×45mm NATO/.223 cal either. If I have any choice in the matter, it’ll be a 7.62mm (but I believe only snipers and DMs get that option for their rifles).
They were considering switching the 6.8mm Rem SPC a few years ago, anyone know if that is still going to happen? I had the pleasure of shooting the round at the range, last weekend. I know they dropped the XM-8, but then brought it back for recent testing, against some other potential competitors.

I think Easter gets lost as much as Christmas does in the secular/commercial/fantasy spin.
But Easter sets apart the message of Christianity from all other religions. We will ‘rise again’ only if we live our lives as we were told to, and ONLY if we believe in and accept the One True G-d Who asks this of us … “To love one another as I have loved you …”
Sounds simple enough … but some folks just make it a might hard to follow.
