Cool: The Sinking Of An Aircraft Carrier
The Oriskany, a decommissioned aircraft carrier, was sunk 24 miles off the coast of Pensacola, Fla., on May 17 to form an artificial reef.
Pretty cool footage from on board the ship as it sank, too.

March 31st, 2008 at 8:17 pmI loved and hated this episode Bash… This was one of those things that really can’t be gasped in, in one single breath… There is that sense of loss, like one of our National treasures was ripped from our grasp… Like an Old Race Horse being put out to pasture because it wasn’t able to perform Miracles anymore… but then there is that realization that it is a fitting retirement…
Cheers to Salty Dog Don for putting her down and for Oriskany for not giving him too much shit!
March 31st, 2008 at 9:03 pmSaw that vid awhile back on Discovery. That was one of McCain’s old ships. I believe that was the last ship he served on before being shot down over NVN.
March 31st, 2008 at 9:06 pmYep, McCain was an A-4 pilot aboard Forrestal and then Oriskany..
