GOE To IVAW: Not These Troops - Not This War - Not This Time
The Iraq Veterans Against The War (IVAW) are planning on betraying their brothers once again, as they did back in 1971. They want to repeat the Winter Soldier Investigation and make claims that our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen that are serving in theater are committing war crimes.
The Gathering of Eagles have one thing to say about this: Not these troops - Not this war - Not this time.
This was sent to me this morning from Gathering of Eagles:
IVAW - Iraq Veterans Against War plan on revisiting past shame by taking a page from the 1971 VVAW Winter Soldier Investigation (WSI). The IVAW is holding its own Winter Soldier Investigation this month at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, MD.
The unverified allegations by the original Winter Soldier Investigation were made famous by John Kerry’s congressional testimony where he characterized American soldiers as “razing villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan”. Unproven statements from the membership of the VVAW and John Kerry managed to smear the reputation of an entire generation of honorable soldiers. Decades later, Vietnam Veterans are still reeling from the aggregious mischaracterization purpetrated by the VVAW.
The Iraq veterans Against War (Formed under Veterans For Peace) are attempting to do the same to this generation of men and women serving in our military. Select IVAW members are scheduled to make statements, and will do so without swearing an oath or signing legally binding depositions, affidavits or official reports. In essence, the IVAW are denying these individuals the basic right of American citizens to due process.
Not these troops - Not this war - Not this time.
The Gathering of Eagles is spearheading a campaign to counter the forthcoming IVAW Winter Soldier Investigation. This video is a compliation of GOE supporters from across the nation speaking out against this upcoming travesty of truth. This new generation of winter soldier’s will NOT have the opportunity to smear our troops with impunity. The will be held accountable for their statements.

March 11th, 2008 at 7:52 amWhen I ran into Chris last Saturday in Times Square he was telling about some stuff that as Glenn Beck would say, “have blood shooting out of your eyes.” He’s able to get a hold of the 214s to number one, check to see if they are in fact veterans, but, number two, find out if they were actually in the field. Some of the biggest war stories of Vietnam came out of the base camps. One would say, “oh, it was so bad we were low crawling off the plane in Cahm Ranh”, and the next would say, “oh, it was so bad, they made us get off in Hawaii and swim the rest of the way”. Shit after shit after shit. I feel quite confident Chris will investigate the authenticity of these low life individuals.
The music theme to this article is the theme to “Air Force One”. It was just on Sunday. That’s why it was fresh in my mind. I am more traumatized by that movie everytime the President leaves the country, I suffer high-anxiety until he gets back. George, stay in DC with the nut-jobs you know, stop pushing your luck. March 11th, 2008 at 8:17 amScott Beauchamp is a great example of the typical “Iraq Veteran Against the War”. He made up stories about atrocities he “witnessed”. His wife is a reporter for the New Republic, so it was pretty easy to get these stories out.
I am courious to see just how many of the members of IVAW are actual veterans. John Cunningham pointed out checking their DD-214s. I am willing to bet that a good percentage arent even members/former members of the military. And a good portion of those that are, never saw combat action.

Yeah, Chris was saying that three of the ‘veterans’ due to testify didn’t have DD-214s. That means they either didn’t serve at all or are using false names. Either way, if they testify under oath, they’re guilty of perjury.
Most of the IVAW never served, and the ones that did usually left the military under less than honorable conditions. Every unit has problem children. Some of them seem to have found a home in IVAW.

Many of the original Winter Soldier testimonies were later proven to be false, by investigation. (Way too late to counter the damage done).
March 11th, 2008 at 9:34 amMany of them used other person’s serial numbers and unit designations. One memorable one, was convinced by Kerry personally, to come up with something. (He went along, as I remember it, to meet girls and get laid). He, many years later, said it was all a lie.
The military tried to investigate the Winter Soldier testimony but was stymied because many were not able to be identified. It turned out that even Kerry’s co-leader of the VVAW was a total fraud (had never been to Vietnam, nor wounded there, as he claimed)
The book Stolen Valor details some of this investigation, it also explains the trouble investigators had because most used false identities.
Things such as, going to the door of a serial numbered person, only to find out he had never been to Winter Soldier, and knew nothing of his identity being used there.
The original “Winter Soldier” was propaganda put to it’s most effective use.
TODAY’S SOLDIERS NEED TO BE ON TOP OF THIS.
