A woman from the NRA called me a few months ago and told there will be a bill introduced into congress soon that would make all shotguns, .22 caliber rifles and any handgun illegal to own. she didnt get very specific on all the details and i have not heard anything about it since. wonder if they are trying to sneak one past us? Too true. I love it when I can get some ladies out to the range. It usually involves a leap on faith on their part, as they’ve been brainwashed by the media and their professors to regard guns as ‘evil,’ the fact that the Collegiate Times is absurdly anti-gun doesn’t help either. But, almost all of them end up enjoying it; some even purchase .22s to plink. I just wish I had a bigger ammo budget! .30-06 (for my vintage Garand) and .45 ACP (RIA M1911A1) can get rather pricey, maybe I should start reloading the casings. Right now I buy my .30-06 from the CMP for about $250/960 rounds.

Oh and last summer, I do believe Pelosi & her cronies, were proposing OSHA measures to restrict transportation of ammo. How much longer can we sustain the damage Congress has done in the last year?!

Wow, I can’t imagine how it must be for your daughter (with her sensible politics) to remain sane at one of the bastions of the 60s radical movement! My dad was taking part in the Cambodian Incursion when the National Guard and Kent State ‘peace’ activists duked it out. Interestingly enough though, one of my best friends toured Israel with some Va Tech and Kent State students, this past January. Actually, Kate is in the Honors program in pre-med … so all her, as she calls them, “liberal shit classes (English and sociology and any other mandatory ‘liberal arts’ requirements)” are behind her … Just eyeball deep in math and science classes and research for the science department (genetics and stem cell). Her circle of friends are pretty much like-minded with her views, and she’s a member of the young republicans up there.

BTW … she is housed in the Honors Dorm building (just a couple years old) which is built just feet away from the site where one of the “shootings” took place.

Little known (and obviously NOT revealed) fact about “that day” … MOST of the “protesters” were SDS and the like … that had bussed in from the east and west coasts … THEY were the ultimate troublemakers that day that instigated the shit that hit the fan historically.

I missed the McCain show, but I’ve thought the same, if he can draw some middle ground and blue dogs in, then great, and it is likely he will need them to win, even more so if so called conservative voters stay home. He is from the legislative branch, not the executive branch, and he sounds like it at times. I also think his age is a benefit, he is to close to the end to suffer fools. I also like the fact he has a temper.
