Miniature Gun Causing Concern Amongst Anti-Terror Officials
We told you about this miniature gun the other day. It now seems that security types are concerned that this gun can be easily smuggled and easily copied and reproduced and could open a whole new set of problems.
If someone confronted me with it I think I might crackup laughing. I really find it hard to believe that it could kill you unless out of sheer dumb luck. A pencil or pen used as a weapon can kill you probably more effectively. Also, if it is so powerful how does the kick not shoot the gun right out of your hand and potentially kill/hurt the wielder?

March 6th, 2008 at 9:53 amChaos!! Chaos KAOS! from that! Is this really a nation of mind numbed spineless faggots?
March 6th, 2008 at 10:00 ampalleeeeez attack me with that thing so I can disarm you and proceed to pistol whip you with it in between the peeing in pants fits of laughter that will be just so embarrassing for me.
What I want to know is how in the hell are you even going to be able to pull the trigger it’s so tiny! Reign in Blood makes a good point, if it is so powerful, surely the recoil would would make it very difficult to hold on to an possibly injure the wielder.
March 6th, 2008 at 10:06 amCan you imagine someone trying to do a hold up with that tiny little thing. It’s not a big deal, my air pistol is as much a threat as this thing. How do you pul the trigger? With a tooth pick? How do you hold on to the little sucker? Heck, I think my 9mm is under powered!
March 6th, 2008 at 10:07 amI can’t see how someone could actually be treatened with this - the round is just too small to do any significant damage. As for smuggling/reproducing it, that is a massive waste of time and money for someone who wants to do harm. A full-size nice semiauto will set you back less than fourth of what this thing costs ($2500 or so I heard). Reproducing it would be so labor intensive as to be completely impractical for anyone but an experienced gunsmith.
March 6th, 2008 at 10:09 amThis is pure bullshit.
I’d be waaaay more afraid of an old pen gun, CIA stinger, etc in .22LR.
This fucking thing isn’t shit…anyone that imagines otherwise (like that pole-smoking idjit in the video) needs to have their fucking head examined.
March 6th, 2008 at 12:10 pmWhat should concern you most is the fact the gun is banned because it does not meet sporting purposes!! What happened to our second amendment?? Ask Bush 41 about what happened to it! He is the one who banned importation of firearms if they did not meet sporting use!! Lets see who decides that??!! Oh, I know our overbearing government!
March 6th, 2008 at 1:02 pmHey, isn’t that TaToo’s gun?…Mr Rourke isn’t gonna like this.
March 6th, 2008 at 1:19 pmThat is the funniest thing I have heard all day.
March 6th, 2008 at 1:36 pm“300 MPH- that could kill someone!” Yeah, if its a car. The guy truly is an idiot. Hmmm, lets see…. 300 miles/Hour*5280 feet/mile*1 Hour/60 Minutes*1 Minute/60 Seconds=440 Feet/Second. Holy crap, what a devastating weapon! Inform the Pentagon we have finally found a viable replacement for that woefully underpowered M4. Oh wait. According to the daisy website, the 1938 Daisy Red Ryder is capable of hurling the massive .177 caliber BB at a break-neck speed of 350 Feet/Second! Suddenly that .05 caliber projectile at 400 Feet/Second doesn’t sound so impressive.
oops, I deprived the new swiss super weapon of some of its capabilities. I meant to say 440 feet/Second and it is actually 0.09 caliber according to their website. Even more devastating than I had imagined. You gotta love the Swiss people, if not for them we wouldn’t have yodeling or Saab’s.
March 6th, 2008 at 1:43 pmSaab’s be swedish…but that’s funny about the Daisey Red Rider. I’ll dig mine out. Watch out world!
March 6th, 2008 at 1:46 pmSwitzerland, Sweden… it’s all the same. J/K I guess the Swiss are taking a beating over this. This is from their website- “We would like to take this opportunity to inform journalists who are interested in writing articles about our product that the power of most airguns or BB guns, which are in many countries freely on sale, can exceed over 10 times the power of our ammunition.” Whatever journalist reported that it fired ammunition at “300 MPH”, was a little off the mark- if you can believe that. Website lists velocity at 399 Feet/Second or 272 MPH. Where has our journalistic pride gone? I have lost all faith in journalism
March 6th, 2008 at 2:14 pmIf you shoot me with this, and I find out about it, I’ll kick your ass.
March 6th, 2008 at 6:00 pmFrank Castle, I like the “…300mph if it’s a car”. Nice.
Yesterday when this was first posted, I calculated a muzzle energy of ~70 ft-lb. That was based on what was reported yesterday as firing a “4.53mm bullet”, which is roughly .178 cal. Looking at the website, it states the caliber as 2.34mm (.09 cal.). That would mean half the mass of the above mentioned 4.53mm, (I extrapolated down from a 180 gr. .40 S&W, and YES, I had nothing better to do) and I come up with a muzzle energy of about 35 ft-lb. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s about the same as a CO2 pellet gun. For comparison, a 180gr .40 S&W bullet has a muzzle energy of ~340 ft-lb. I would be more worried about accidentally inhaling that thing.
