“Recreate ‘68″ Planning Riot At Democratic Convention - With Videos
“Recreate ‘68″ Group Cases Denver Prepping For Riot
By Bash
I told you about these punks before, and I’ll be telling you more about them as the Democratic National Convention draweth nigh.
They have an event planned for today, I’ll let them explain:
THE GREAT CAMERA HUNT!
Join “Revo the Rabbit” and Recreate 68 as we search downtown Denver for hidden
spy cameras that have been installed by the City to keep an eye on activists! Come
with a group or join-up with one and see if you can win the Great Camera Hunt! To
win, your team needs to locate the most spy cameras in your designated area. Meet
back with R-68 at Civic Center Park for a potluck picnic. Celebrate the resurection,
the resurection of a revolutionary spirit.
NOTE: The announcement is just as they put it out, interesting that they misspelled “resurrection” for an event planned the day before Easter.
Recreate 68 is what they want to do.
Their goal is “recreate” the turmoil and civil unrest, and that’s putting it mildly, that occurred at the DNC in Chicago in 1968, where Eight of the protesters — Abbie Hoffman, Tom Hayden, David Dellinger, Rennie Davis, John Froines, Jerry Rubin, Lee Weiner, and Bobby Seale were charged with conspiracy in connection with the violence.
They became known initially as the “Chicago Eight” but Seale was tried separately after a mistrial was declared in his case, and so the smaller group became known as the “Chicago Seven”.
They all ended up getting acquitted on the charge of conspiracy to incite a riot, however, five of them were convicted of inciting a riot, as individuals.
But the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals eventually overturned their convictions.
Based on this model, the group that has formed and calls itself “Recreate ‘68″ is counting on history repeating itself, by attempting to repeat history.
I find it funny that many of the people who had participated in the “Summer of Love” in San Francisco, my parents dragging my little sister and I along as true “flower children” included, ended up in Chicago that year, getting high and breaking windows and inciting violence, and yelling and screaming like good little Stalinist Idiots while a handful of the organizers attempted to draw power unto themselves using a bunch of stoned hippies.
Here’s Dan Rather at the convention:
This is a clip from an upcoming film “Chicago 10″ which “Recreates” 1968, romanticizing and glorifying the idiocy:
Here’s William F. Buckley and Gore Vidal “discussing” the events:
I will be following this “Recreate ‘68″ group, and others like it, including one called “The RNC Welcoming Committee” who have a very unpleasant “Welcome” brewing for the Republican National Convention which follows in August.
Of course you realize that most of these are all the same people, neither Democrats nor Republicans, but Marxist Anarchists who are in love with the romantic notion of obtaining power using an army of high school and college kids who’ll march in any street to be a part of something rebellious if given an orange bandana, a Cuban flag with a picture of Che, a megaphone, and the promise of a good party afterward.

Recreate 68
Oh GAWD! I hope the hell so! They REALLY want to go down that road again, huh?
Nixon was elected Prez. in `68 …
The democrats have been using a fucking nail gun to put the nails into their own coffin this trip …
When I was doing my radio internship in Cleveland [several] years ago I sat in on an interview with Dan Fogelberg (RIP). He was attending college in Chi-town during the `68 convention bullshit … Fogelberg, an out-doorsy, but level-headed hippie-type admitted ‘those people were f-ing nuts!’
Yup …
March 22nd, 2008 at 3:43 pmPS … The interview was in 1980, not `68.
March 22nd, 2008 at 3:44 pmBut…but…Barack [redacted] Obama promised us change!?!
March 22nd, 2008 at 4:02 pmHmm, let’s hope the Denver police take inspiration from the CPD! This can only incite the Silent Majority against the dems.
March 22nd, 2008 at 4:14 pmYa’ll do a searh for “Years of Hope, Days of Rage” book on PDF, available free on the internet, and “The Way the Wind Blew”, history of the Weathermen. It’s the same bunch of jolly assholes equitable to the ‘ooooh….trouble bunny’ some scribbling above. Out of the two books above, there are several ‘revolutionary’ posters/drawings depicted…one I coudlnt get around were the simliarities of the ‘art’ to Al Jaffe, artist or (former artist) for Mad Magazine…anyone w/ any knowledge on that?
Regardles, it is the same broken record. “Five, six, seven, eight, now’s the time to smash the state”, “tear down the mother country of imperialism…” yada, yada yada. When these two events go down, you’ll hear from Tom Hayden in the news, Dohrn, and Ayers…
March 22nd, 2008 at 9:26 pmI gotta start using spell check more…

March 23rd, 2008 at 8:50 am[…] h/t: Pat Dollard […]
March 23rd, 2008 at 6:21 pmToo bad there wasn’t another event planned by the Police called “Night sticks ‘86″…
March 24th, 2008 at 5:34 amNYC does NOT put up with shit like this. There are these huge holding pens on piers over the Hudson that can (and have) hold thousands. The last really big mess was the ‘04 Republican Convention. They seemed used to Berkeley-style, let-them-do-whatever-they-want, tactics.
The idea that they’d actually take a nightstick to the face, get thrown into a cage, and left to contemplate their actions over the weekend never seemed to have crossed their minds.
Naturally, they whined about police brutality. I think the NYPD’s response was, “Cry me a fucking river.”

I usually have a love/hate attitude with big city-types … but the “Cry me a fucking river” response/philosophy IS one I do love.
March 24th, 2008 at 10:35 amI’m gonna let you all in on one of my little secrets here. Spell check, Wiki lookup, dictionary, etc. works in all text boxes with right click. It’ll make you look good.

Also, I’m hoping that enough of them get arrested in Denver and held long enough to make the RNC plans fall apart.
March 24th, 2008 at 10:39 amActually, Recreate68.org was created by a Dittohead as part of Rush’s Operation Chaos. Pretty clever, isn’t it? If you check out the site, you’ll pick up on some of Rush’s quotes subtly worked into the site.
April 24th, 2008 at 9:52 pmI always search blogs and their responses to figure the best criticism of anarchism or what the folks in the movement are doing…
but all i seem to hear/read is ad hominem arguments and double standards.
like those anarchist target (those responsible for our lack of freedoms, inequality, and constant war) with hassling
what crazy jerks
no mention that they organize to give out free food healthier than the FDA or the free medical clinic at recreate 1968
or any of the stuff anarchists are working on daily
just these protests like it’s all we do as a body politic
it’s not all the repubs/dems do
it’s not all anarchists do either
I have come to wonder if patriotism is an excuse for fascism
or like it’s tendencies, cause it seems like folks support police and reppression over any subversive activity
whether it’s dock workers who won’t load war materials
or anarchist who use political conventions to remind folks that only 23% vote cause we know it won’t change a thing the rich and powerful is who the system was set up for in the first place and the freedoms we have today have come from bitter fights with that system and the people it’s run for
and we know the power to change lies with all of us
May 7th, 2008 at 8:54 pmif we organize and act to make things better freer more equitable we have a chance of getting it
where as politicians and political parties are a dead end.
