I have a real problem believing this hippie ass. There is too many things wrong with what he is saying. Does not add up. Not even close to technically right. First of all you do not take out buildings with mortars. AND Our troops would not stop for a body on the side of the road that wasn’t wearing a US uniform. Bodies tend to be booby trapped. Call it in.. maybe but not stop. Our soldiers are smarter than that. This guy is obviously full of crap.

Thanks for the link. It was a hard read for this old fart but the story is there. I was shocked to click on Becks TV button and found he was on CNN so I would have missed it anyhow. Much better read than watching that asshole from winter soldier. Yep, the old Tinitis of the ears…like a thousand Cicadas or Locusts buzzing constantly. Clutch250f, I noticed the same thing. He gave no details about his unit or his rank. And can someone tell me why a mortarman for an M252 81mm mortar used “for long-range indirect fire support to light infantry, air assault, and airborne units” (Wikipedia entry here) would be situated in a long-term fixed position, like artillery, in a garbage dump? Also, I bothered to check up on pudding being in MREs, so I checked here and here and found nothing about it being apart of their contents (admittedly, that is not a systematic search). Unless, of course, he’s referring to “Ranger Pudding,” a DIY concoction of cocoa mix, non-dairy creamer, and water, but he specifically called it “your pudding…your MRE pudding.” That might be a small detail to quibble over, but he was so forthcoming in other details of his remembrance, that it seems unlikely he would mess up that detail. The other clue that he’s pulling it out of his ass is “to secure it and wait for the MPs, or whatever authorities…” A basic detail of protocol that he should’ve known, if he had served.

I only listened to the first half, and that was so heavy on the suggested diction and terminology that I gave up thinking this asshole could be a soldier.

He is delivering his lines like an actor who wants everybody to believe (1) he really was there, and (2) he is so remorseful of what he did.

If there were a molecule of truth to this story, his unit and background would be all over a PowerPoint presentation and billboards.
