Hilla, Mar 26, (VOI)- More than 60 gunmen were killed on Wednesday evening as U.S. choppers fired rockets against buildings used by gunmen in central Hilla, 100 km south of Baghdad, Iraqi security source said.

“U.S. copters bombed sites used by gunmen in Hilla’s neighborhoods of al-Askari, Ahmed Nader and Muhaizem, killing more than 60 militants and destroying some houses,” the source, who requested anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq- Voices of Iraq- (VOI).

From his part, Abdellatif Rayan, an MNF-Iraq media adviser told VOI that the operation was carried out as Iraqi forces requested an air support while clashing with gunmen in central Hilla.

Hilla, capital city of Babel, has been a scene of clashes that erupted between security forces and fighters of the Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s militia.

I just hope that we don’t violate the fundamental tenent of counterinsurgency warfare; Never create enamies when trying to remove others…

If we can hit Sadr’s forces and protect the population than I say Kill em all. If we can’t though, then we should be careful in the next few days…

I will trust General Patraeus and let him take the action he needs to.

Iran is doing its best to influence the outcome of the US election. That’s what this is all about. Good. Iran has gathered the Hizzies, Al Quds and the rest of the gutless Sadr followers and put them in places where we can kill them.

Of couse cowards like the Hizzies like to use civilians as human shields…a tactic they practiced all the time in Lebanon.

The only chance that the average Iraqi has to be free of these mental midgets of the 7th century is to fight and kill these pukes ireespective of where they are.

War sucks. Civilians die. More die because of such tactics of the enemy. This would be easy if the Iraniacs and the rest of the mustifoon jihadis were men, instead of thieves and liars.

I’d like to see the Iraqis themselves do the brunt of the fighting and purge their country of the Iraniac menace once and for all.

I think the Sadrists, thought they were going to have a chance at fighting and layed down their guard because they believed they were going up against Maliki only Forces and not US Forces. It was a trap.
