If I heard something from my pastor, which I strongly disagreed with . . . especially this kind of racist, hate speech . . . he would no longer be my pastor . . . in fact, I wouldn’t stop until he was drummed out of the ministry.
Newt is correct - The speech is infuriating.
March 18th, 2008 at 8:45 pmright as always. Newt is a great American
March 18th, 2008 at 8:46 pmThrow Grandma under the bus! That should do nicely.

March 18th, 2008 at 9:11 pmI like this comment:
Obama said he (for 20 years) couldn’t remember being at ANY of the sermons that his paster said all those hate filled things - But he had no problem remembering exactly all the raciest things his white grandmother said.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:48 amif madrassas teach hate, what does this ‘church’ teach?
These hate merchants are not that different than the imams preaching the hate of the great satan, America.
They are choosing a side.
March 19th, 2008 at 4:13 amTen years ago during Easter sermon. I walked out of my church when my Paster spew political rhetoric. I was so mad that he had to preach his political agenda of all days on Easter! It would be three years before I set foot back into my church when that Paster retired. So let face it! Obama has been greatly influence by his Pastor for almost 20 years and still see this corrupt Pastor who spew Hate America crap to his church members. All Obama did was condemned the words his Paster preach but still support him! I will never, ever vote for Obama now because he still support this corrupt I hate America Paster!
March 19th, 2008 at 4:47 amFor years my Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church (we have belonged to) stood in support of a ’suspected’ Nazi death camp guard, of Ukrainian nationality (John Demjanjuk), who at the time was being threatened with deportation from our country.
Since I had a comfortable one-on-one ability with the Priest, I would approach him following Sunday Divine Liturgy (after he would include the battle to keep John Demjanjuk in the United States in the list of prayers/indulgences …) and inform him that every time John Demjanjuk was mentioned in a positive/supportive manner in the Sunday church service, I and my family would be staying home the following Sunday in protest because my Husband’s beloved Grandfather from the Ukraine had relatives rounded up and killed by the Nazis during WWII. That would not only give Father the whole week to reflect on my opposition, but to see me during the week as I came to the church/school where my girls attended grade school …
The mentions of the fight for John Demjanjuk began to decrease during services, but would show up in the Sunday news bulletin that was handed out at the end of services. I would take one from the church Deacon, leaf through it, and then hand it back if I saw the man’s name inside it.
I was a bit notorious in our church community.
And then, the name John Demjanjuk seemed to be forgotten …
March 19th, 2008 at 6:06 amRev Wright is no man of God. He is a demagogue…”one who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.” HL Mencken
Rev “Wrong” seems to have more in common w/Crazy Louis Farrakhan - “Whitey and the Jews keepin’ you down”..etc, etc..another raving educated lunatic.
Mr Obama shows an utter lack of judgement and now wants to desperately distance himself from the stench while embracing the swine.
March 19th, 2008 at 7:32 am“These hate merchants are not that different than the imams preaching the hate of the great satan, America.”
Dittos Steve. And isn’t it NOT suprising that while Obama mentioned; “I’m sure your pastor, priest, rabbi has made comments you disagree with” he conveniently left imams out of the equation? Would using the term ‘imam’ hit too close to home for Hussein.
Which only reinforces your above assertion as well as supporting the idea that Hussein’s Iraq war views were shaped by the wrong-rev Wright rather than by Defence Dept reports from US commanders on the ground, etc provided to Congress or other more reasonable sources than an out-of-control preacher echoing radical imams.
“The lack of judment implied in this is breathtaking.” -Newt Gingrich
I see no difference in oratory skills, fundraising abilities or policy views between the wrong-rev Wright and Hussein. But possessing these traits does not necessarily a good President make.

I wish this part was shown I would like to see what Newt says.
March 19th, 2008 at 9:56 amKind of funny how a UNITED STATES Presidential candidate listens to a pastor who says, “God damn America.” It has always baffled me as to how people can hate this great and glorious country called America, and yet they remain here! If they hate it so much, why stay? Why not go somewhere this flag doesn’t fly? I can assure them none of us would miss them anyway.
