3 More Americans Killed In Chi-Town War
Where are the democrats’ demands for a timeline for pull-out from Chicago?
Two men and a woman were found bound and gagged and shot to death in a Little Village home on the West Side Wednesday morning in what authorities believe may have been drug-related murders.
Police went to the residence in the 2800 block of South Kedzie after a well-being call was made at 6:40 a.m. Officers discovered two adult males and a woman gagged and shot to death in the main floor of the two-story building.
Police also found a money counter on the same floor, indicating they may have been involved in drug trafficking. The door to the home was opened.
“This appears to be a drug hit,” Chicago Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said.
No drugs were found in the home as of late Wednesday morning.
The Rev. Marco Mercado of the nearby Good Shepherd Catholic Church said the neighborhood is notorious for gangs, but that violence seemed to be under control within the last few years.
Many of the gang members from opposing sides attend the church for mass and quinceañeras, said Mercado, who works police in reducing gang activity.
“Many of them are very good kids. Unfortunately they’re just making the wrong decisions. There’s a lot of pressure and we have to face it. As somebody said, ‘It’s probably safer for them to be in the gangs than not being there,’ ” he said.
The shootings come a week after five people were found shot to death in the 7600 block of South Rhodes Avenue.
The mounting violence in the city — 40 people shot and 12 killed in less than a week — prompted Mayor Daley to summon police, school, religious and community leaders to his City Hall office last Friday to search for solutions.
Chicago Police officers will soon be equipped with M4 carbines to match the firepower of the street gangs they’re up against, under a policy change in the works to stop the bloodshed.

How can we expect good decisions from people brought up fatherless, on welfare and educated in D’rat government schools?

April 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pmWhy not get the great unifier, OBAMA, to end the violence. He has a plan for Iraq, why not his hometown. Perhaps he can get his mentor, the rev to help along with the other member of their church Oprah.

I wonder where the details of the story came from? Good Shepherd Church is in the 2700 block of Kolin Ave. The 2800 block of Kedzie is not even near that neighborhood. Kedzie is about 2 miles east of Kolin. There are a lot of other “K-town” streets within a couple of blocks of Kolin, but Kedzie isn’t one of them.
