Bush To Address Nation On Iraq
Success thus far will obviously be the highlight. The Dems will continue their investment in defeat and will thusly badger Petraeus. The principle point of the speech is a defensive manuever against the Dems noise…
From The Swamp:
The president also will be making an address on the war later this week – on Thursday – following the Capitol Hill testimony of Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker on Tuesday. Petraeus, maintaining that the president’s “surge’’ of forces has worked, is expected to recommend a pause in any further draw-downs after the roughly 21,000 surge forces are withdrawn by this summer.
“It’s hard to deny that there has been great success,’’ Fratto said today. “No one ever made the claim that the surge was going to wipe out violence 100 percent… but provide certain security so Iraqi officials could make the economic and political reforms for the lives of the Iraqis that we all want to see. … There’s no question that the surge has placed Iraq in a better place to do that.’’
So let me get this straight: America is rebuilding a country that’s been destroyed by dictators and Sharia Law for hundreds of years, and we’re the BAD GUYS?! Fail to see the logic in that.
April 7th, 2008 at 7:08 am“surge was going to wipe out violence 100 percent”. On a smaller scale in parts of our cities the only way to keep violence down is to completely surge those parts of town and even then it still pops up. When people in those parts of town see it’s advantageous to snitch and cooperate with the police their quality of life improves. democrats will when it’s their turn tie the hands of the police and the police will be portrayed as racist because they arrest crimminals. democrats can’t stand to see security has worked and they’re desperate to tear the efforts to shreads. That’s what democrats do.
April 7th, 2008 at 7:13 amever heard the phrase “bleeding heart liberal”?
its funny how they cant respect the fact that 30 million human beings have been freed from one of the worst dictatorial regimes in history.
April 7th, 2008 at 7:17 amWhile America needs to be exceedingly careful about entangling itself unnecessarily in the affairs of other countries in the extreme manner of an invasion to overthrow evil, I believe that in this case, Iraq and Kuwait both owe a huge debt of gratitude to the United States, and especially to the two Bush Presidents. Their actions to free their respective populations from the Saddam Hussein tyranny have done an incredible amount of good, and I believe that most of their children will look back and thank God that the United States acted to free them.
April 7th, 2008 at 8:10 amso whens this damn war gonna be over already
April 7th, 2008 at 9:36 am@colton c:
So when’s the war going to be over? Why don’t you go ask the jihadis in Islamistan that question since they started it on 9/11.
OBL has said the west will have to submit, convert or be killed by Islam….or for Islam to be defeated.
Take your pick.
April 7th, 2008 at 9:44 ami choose for it to be destroyed. I just think we should use some drastic measures to end this.
April 7th, 2008 at 9:47 amNice show of humanity there colton c, what happened, did the kos site go down?
I can tell you have never been involved with anyone who has been in battle, sitting on your ass and making such statements is just showing how small and petty you are.
Human life has value. Wholesale slaughter of innocents is part of what we are at war against.
