Eco-Anxiety And Other Al Gore Transmitted Diseases
If you truly believe that Al Gore and the whole “Green” crowd are in this because they love the planet and actually believe we are in deep shit…I have a bridge I want to sell you.
My sister-in-law works for a firm in Portland that specializes in designing your business to be more eco-efficient. They have gone from a posh penthouse office in the most expensive business district in Portland, to buying an entire old apartment building (a little gentrification) and renovating it into their “Home Office”…these people are making money hand over fucking fist.
There’s green in going Green. But this…good grief…
Sarah Edwards worries about the gasoline she burns, the paper towels she throws out, the litter on the beach, water pollution. She worries so much, it literally makes her sick.
“Fear, grief, anger, confusion and depression,” Edwards says, pointing to the negativity that has manifested itself in real-life symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, fibromyalgia and fatigue.
“I had so much pathos. It’s so sad,” says Edwards, who moved from California’s crowded Santa Monica to a secluded cabin in Los Padres National Forest to help her cope.
Now, she says: “We only drive to the grocery store every three weeks. We have our own source of water. We compost and no longer heat every room on the first floor.”
Edwards suffers from eco-anxiety, the growing angst experienced by those who can’t handle the thought that they — or anyone — are in some way contributing to global warming, species extinction and dwindling natural resources.
She recently launched a blog called “Eco-Anxiety” because she believes environmental dangers should be taken seriously. “This is severely disturbing,” she says.
The American Psychological Association has no official position on the merits of what it calls an emerging field.
But some health care professionals say eco-therapy is more of the latest in a line of money-making gimmicks targeted at the environmentally conscious, an industry estimated by the green group Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability Association at $228 million a year, and growing.
Melissa Pickett, an eco-therapist in Santa Fe, N.M., who says she treats dozens of patients a month, said sometimes she has to tell extreme greenies to chill out for their own good. “The global warming craze will cause your clients to go into extremism fueled by fear,” she says.
And with eco-therapy around, that extremism can get expensive. Eco-therapy can cost as much as traditional psychotherapy, upwards of $100 an hour. There’s a lot of green in being green.

Got to give Gore credit: the man just one-upped Scientology. He’s created an entirely new bullshit religion based on absolutely nothing, claiming to know everything, replete with non-existent devils and himself as Pope.
Eco-therapy!
There’s a sucker born every minute, and Al Gore is in charge of the maternity ward.
April 17th, 2008 at 1:57 pmLet’em go nutz.
April 17th, 2008 at 2:04 pmI do environmental cleanup for a living and have for around 20 years. It’s something I take seriously. That’s why I want to rip the heads off people like this and pour soda water (CO2, you know) down their bleeding necks.
Except for Bash’s Sister In Law, of course.
My girlfriend’s youngest once asked me, “What are we gonna do when everything floods?” (Steam). All I could tell him was, “Buddy, those aren’t real scientists, they’re teachers and actors and somebody else writes what they say. There are floods now and then and always have been and if one comes, we’ll fix it ourselves.” Just like that, he was happy and his Mom told me he had been stressing about this crap for weeks and having nightmares. Bastards!
April 17th, 2008 at 2:12 pmYou see?
You see?
See what happens when the drugs are removed from the hippie culture?
No good comes of it.
Sedate them … NOW!
April 17th, 2008 at 2:39 pmIt gets worse; they’re now equating the struggle against “climate change” with that of WW2!!

April 17th, 2008 at 2:42 pmMore Liberal ideology. They are certainly idol worshippers.
This is just another one of those fads that i hope goes away soon. “Im more worried about the environment than you are”
See what happens when you’re not “bitter” and “cling onto religion” you have to find other less fulfilling things to fill the giant void in your life.
April 17th, 2008 at 2:42 pmI work for a green firm…….and trust me we paid top dollar to be green (its called LEEDS certification). It doesn’t come cheap at least ten times more expensive….its all about the money…….no doubt. I’m right in the middle of it on a daily basis….I’m the lone doubter of human caused global warming in a company of over 150 people. Trust me I have fun with it constantly…..
April 17th, 2008 at 2:47 pmDan (san diego)
send us your coordinates and we’ll come airlift you out of there
April 17th, 2008 at 2:58 pmAl is out to “Gore” your pocket book. I have never seen such BS slung on an unassuming American public. The rich get richer and the poor keep pi–ing in the wind. Maybe he would be interested in becoming a diplomat in the Middle East. I hear there is a shortage and members of our diplomatic corps do not want the job.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:01 pmAmazing how people with no scientific knowledge on weather, such as the Goracle (the man couldn’t even finish Divinity School); get paid attention to. Yet real scientists like the founder of the Weather Channel have to take a back seat to flat-earthers like Manbearpig and Heidi (Om Om) Cullen.
What a freaking scam. The carnival barkers just keep hawking their wares while the suckers keep on paying.
Bet you old PT Barnum is smiling right about now.
Too bad rationality and reason aren’t the by-products of education anymore. If they were, the Goracle and Cullen would be run out on a rail…or committed to a fine phychiatric facility.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:20 pmHey, they’re your taxdollars. Just watch for the fire sales on all of the abandoned equipment to get your own share back. I see ethanol distilling equipment already being moth-balled and this is first-class stuff with real uses (besides booze
, you goons). There’s nothing wrong with making free fuel out of plant waste, it’s merely stupid to use a source such as corn. After the showmen have taken their cut off the top and run, that equipment is going to be available for a song. I’ll certainly be shopping at the fire sales when the dupes go bankrupt.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:41 pm-Dan (the infidel)
You know that the guy that created the weather channel is our weatherman in San Diego. I love the guy, but if you’ve ever seen him in action, you’ll know why people dismiss him. He is hilarious……..
Unfortunately no one listens to him.
I read a book from the foremost biological field scientist in the world…….He said that its a waste of time to worry about global warming being caused by man. He says this though, and this is what really worries me….. “If you think people are up in arms about global warming, just wait til we run out of fresh water…..”
The world government is using global warming as a smoke screen to hide the fact that in 40yrs we are going to be in SERIOUS trouble in regards to finding fresh water to sustain us all….just keep all the little sheeple worried about warming….not the real threat. (besides the jihadi threat that is…)
April 17th, 2008 at 3:49 pm“The global warming craze will cause your clients to go into extremism fueled by fear,” she says”
It’s truely astounding the shenanigans ignorant people can get themselves into
April 17th, 2008 at 4:54 pmWhat’s really god-awful, they put in an additive that makes their etnanol unsuitable for human consumption. So even if no one eventually can afford to burn it, you won’t be able to drink it either!
April 17th, 2008 at 5:04 pm@Dan (san diego)
I’ve heard several interviews with the guy and am impressed with his common sense and emphasis on letting the data determine the outcome instead of making the data conform to a pre-conceived notion.
Years ago this guy was also responsible for getting out a pub to the world called “The Weather Classroom”. It was aimed at grade school kids, yet even adults were buying copies. I still got mone and use it to identify approaching cloud formations.
Good science yields good (valid) data. Bad science(Al Gore) leads to nothing but more gross stupidy and another Oscar for Manbearpig.
BTW, speaking of bad science, everyone should go check out the movie “Expelled”. Ben Stein is a f*cking genious.
April 17th, 2008 at 5:15 pmNo worries, my sister-in-law is like a glorified secretary and she makes the espressos and all of that, she’s the one that tells me about this stuf…she’s not a greenie.
Just someone with a nice-paying job making espresso and doing payroll…heh heh…

April 17th, 2008 at 5:22 pmJust someone with a nice-paying job making espresso and doing payroll…heh heh…

Cripes! I’d sure love that job … even if it meant working around greenies!
April 17th, 2008 at 5:30 pmThis is what you get when you worship the created thing more than the creator - an empty soul, that is manifested in physical ways. Algore has revived the ages old religion of worshipping the earth, and has set himself up as the high priest, and the worlds idiots are the coming to worship in droves.
Algore does not need to be president - he has more power over the world now than he ever could as president. He will go down in history as the biggest scam artist of all time.

Which makes it even less difficult to believe HE was the one trying to “steal the 2000 election” in Fla. …
April 17th, 2008 at 7:56 pmAMEN!!
I think this whole global warming thing is Algores revenge for what happened in 2000

April 17th, 2008 at 8:19 pmIt amazes me how the left STILL cannot get over that election. Just this week Hussein felt he had to mention that he believes Algore won the election in 2000 - 8 FREAKIN’ YEARS AGO!!!
Ol George W., the “dummy, idiot, frat boy, yadda yadda yadda” laid the lefts finest moment to waste
Dan (San Diego), Bash,
That LEEDS certified stamp is a carrot that cities are using to get builders to build greener through tax breaks isn’t it?
April 17th, 2008 at 9:37 pmTo some extent it’s perfectly fine if someone wants to live like that - the problem is when they try to force everyone else to toe their crazy line. Free markets are great - if you allow them they will fulfill almost any demand through the sheer ingenuity of free people (even the demand for “eco-therapy” and “green” products) and provide any resource you are willing to work for. Just look at Taiwan versus most of Africa - the difference is (relative) political freedom, free markets, private property, and just laws that encourage individuals to work, invest, and innovate - and *not* the presence of lots of raw material resources.
April 18th, 2008 at 12:16 pmI know this is late on the subject, but I won’t let it slide. I am possibly the best field biologist in the country, or not, but I’m certainly in the running. Your tax dollars don’t pay for me to work, unless one of your agencies decides to hire me. I work for some real SOBs and some real sweethearts, on the private side. For government, I try to only work for the good guys, because every other aspect of working for them sucks.
Dan is right, and so is his biologist. It all boils down to: “There is no free lunch.” Clean water will be huge in the next hundred years and you should apportion your investments accordingly.
The important thing to understand is that everything, including dirt and water, is average. Under the best of circumstances, even average dirt and water has stuff in it. When you pull off the clean water or the clean dirt, you have a waste that is greatly concentrated beyond background and you have a disposal problem. Period. Just try to sell desalinating water to serve a city, then figure out where you are going to put the radioactive waste; because radioactivity is natural and pulling clean water from the ocean leaves a waste that has higher radioactivity than background.
See? If you can’t pump desal-waste into the ocean, you can’t desal ocean water. If you can’t spread clean dirt waste over vast areas you can’t make clean dirt for food or gardens. The sensible thing to do is to pump waste deep below the Earth or way out in the oceans, because then there’s enough space to work with to get the numbers down.
Like that will be allowed by people that were never good at math. So buy stock in clean water. And clean dirt.
