Last Thing You See When A Tank Blasts You
This is apparently the video from the Reuters cameraman who was killed by Israeli tank fire. They say that the flash you see in the distance is the tank firing. The guy then ends up dead. Interesting. I do have a question about that puff of green smoke right before the end of this tape…interesting stuff, what say you?
UPDATE: Green smoke puff mystery solved.
MPAT round.
April 17th, 2008 at 12:00 pmOn second thought, the Israelis have other, very sexy multi-purpose rounds with air-burst mode. Don’t know what it’s called though.
April 17th, 2008 at 12:06 pmwow. Seen the green puff of smoke to. I have never seen anything like that. Why does that happen?
April 17th, 2008 at 12:06 pmI would say definitely air burst. high explosive probably
April 17th, 2008 at 12:09 pmThat looked like an airburst. I don’t know of any tank round that can do that.
April 17th, 2008 at 12:23 pmWhat was that green air burst? Spent radiation artillery shells?
April 17th, 2008 at 12:26 pmAir burst I think. But there is a ton of damage to the vehicle. I thought the round hit the vehicle. And the fire in the vehicle seems odd. Only thing I could come up with is cannister shot
April 17th, 2008 at 12:43 pmA few minutes with google and voila:
Israel Military Industries M-337 HE-MP-T
http://www.defense-update.com/products/digits/120m337.htm
“It uses a tungsten fragments envelope to enhance lethality in the anti-personnel role. It uses an electronic programmable fuze setter (IFS) linked to the Fire Control System (FCS), to enable airburst effect over a designated area, penetration of walls, thin armor or fortification (employing time delay) or explosion on impact, using super-quick activation.”
April 17th, 2008 at 1:12 pmThe last thing that went thru that guys mind was his camera lens
April 17th, 2008 at 1:58 pmDamn…like watching a suspicious wolf swipe a paw out…I guess he didn’t like the dudes videotaping him in the distance…*whistle*
April 17th, 2008 at 1:58 pmGreat Shot.
April 17th, 2008 at 2:16 pmYeah, looks like an airburst, just a more modern version of the beehive round.
