i’m sick of him ignoring answers and then acting as if his question was not acknowledged

I would step outside the self-imposed, but expected, restraint, and look across the table and remark, “Senator, did you hear what I said? Is it a [hearing] problem, or a comprehension problem … because I can re-state my answer to your question in smaller words you might more easily understand … sir.”
