As to Germany … even when it was over (VE Day) … it wasn’t over in Germany for us for quite awhile … we still were dealing with violent resistance for quite some time.

Hey smart a$$ I did two tours in Korea inside the DMZ where off and on the North Korean still infiltrate and shoot at us! And in 1988 while doing a Peace Keeping Mission in the Sinai, Egypt one of our Lieutenant and four of our soldier got hit by a IED (back then the higher ups did not want to alarm the Civilians so they called it an accident!). The LT lost his foot while the others were badly hurt! And lets not forget good old Bosnia where snipers and IEDs are planted every once an awhile too!

Notice in that video that the number dead was listed behind the amount of money spent? That is the perfect illumination of their priorities.

Hey P51, have you been outside the wire in Iraq? There are more Iraqi soldiers and police fighting the Muj in Iraq than all other nations combined, including the US. They do this despite the fact that their families can be murdered for their service. I had a jundee that I patrolled with who had his son’s head mailed to him in a box. Once the funeral and services were over, he came back to continue his service. I have been in firefights side by side with Iraqi Army, and I have seen them continue to assault through the objective despite taking casualties. I have seen this with my own eyes. Sounds like you’ve been watching too much CNN P51.

Iraq has over 540,000 troops serving on active duty (does not include police and ISWAT or S.O.I.) and while many are still training and/or being led by US forces, Iraqis are the main force conducting combat operations in Diyala Province, Basra, Anbar, etc. etc. etc. Compare that to the current US force strength of 140,000 plus 10,000 or so coalition partners. So the Iraqis who are willing to fight for their nation, in uniform, outnumber our forces more than 3:1 and they need to get off of their asses? Pull your head out of your ass man and keep those shitty and innaccurate IVAW/VVAW talking points to yourself. I suggest you just hang out here and read for a while to get some education on the reality of the situation before you open your stinkin’ pie-hole again. I called the DNC and chewed someone out about this ad. Asked if they really had so little respect and concern for the families of those deployed to show this. What if a young child who’s parent is deployed see this ad?? I can not imagine the fall out of that. It’s hard enough for us adults to think about.
