Looked like a T6 Texan. Good to see it sitting pretty.
April 6th, 2008 at 11:20 pmNice job, landing…The best alnding is where everyone walks away. Looks a tad like a P-51…or an early USAF trainer. Could be a T-6. I spect the dude flying it is from Raytheon???
April 7th, 2008 at 4:16 amDidn’t Eisenhower pass a law forcing that 1 mile every 5 miles of highway be made straight just for this such an occasion?
April 7th, 2008 at 5:31 amI memory serves ( ), this was just before the 2007 EAA Airventure, and it was a T6.
The pilot had engine problems, and the highway (not wan of Eisenhower’s Interstates, but Wisconsin Highway 41 near Fond du Lac) was the only clear spot he had.
Damaged a wingtip on a sign, but the bird was in good shape otherwise…
