damn! lucky he didn’t tear up the blade
April 23rd, 2008 at 5:16 pmOld stuff, I believe that was from the first gulf war.
April 23rd, 2008 at 5:40 pmHe’s lucky he didn’t lose the aircraft. Wonder how much fuel he had left…or whether or not he made back to his base or assault ship.
April 23rd, 2008 at 6:15 pmHe did tear up the blades. But the titanium spar that runs through it held up so he could stay in the air. Those blades, Titanium spar, nickle plated leading edge and at about 300 pounds, will pummel just about anything. And yes, they made it home.
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:34 pmThat video is old. The blades did get torn up. But weighing in at about three-hundred pounds with a titanium spar running through it and a nickle plated leading edge, those blades will pummel just about anything. And yeah, they made it home.
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:37 pmSorry about the two posts. Our damn military server doesn’t let me see what I post for some reason. I’ll have to wait ’til I get home from now on.
April 24th, 2008 at 4:45 amGreat display of just how far that rotor disk can come down in front of the aircraft.
Glad to know the crew got the ship home.
