Desecrating graves of veterans–of any religion–is not cool.
April 7th, 2008 at 3:35 pmKevin, agreed. No Veteran should have their grave desecrated. That is European crap for you.
April 7th, 2008 at 5:27 pmVets deserve to rest in peace, no matter their religion.
April 7th, 2008 at 6:09 pmSadly, not so unusual in France …
Check the writings in the pictures to those in the video report … Very similar in wording and “symbols”. Has to be done by the same group/people. Actually, very “anarchist”.

April 7th, 2008 at 7:03 pmAlthough I would consider this a veteran’s issue in general, I find it rather hard to generate sympathy for this particular group of vets. The only good thing I can say is that at least these Muslims served our country honorably - much more so than their descendants.
April 7th, 2008 at 8:32 pmSadly, in France and other countries, some people’s concern over the rise of Islamism has caused them to find common cause with many groups that would be abhorant in other times.
The blog war between Little Green Footballs and Gates of Vienna are a good example of this. Just because the skinheads and I agree on the dangers of Islamism, I won’t be showing up for their picnics.
I expect France to let this go long enough that when the backlash comes it will be led by the anti-semite nationalists and will lead to excess and mass murder as seems to be the tradition in France.
They overthrew the Monarch, but they needed a little more blood so they just kept killing, Priests, landowners of any sort, people with nice clothes……Jews.
April 7th, 2008 at 8:34 pmLet’s leave this psychotic, Satanic-style desecration of the dead to the experts–the jihadis.
April 7th, 2008 at 8:36 pmDrill, France hasn’t the monopole for vandalism ; if it was worth digging in the papers, I could find such repertoried acts anywhere.
In the occurence, this desacralisation of our muslim vets’ graves, was a result of our ministary of justice Rachida Dati (yes, she is of muslim ancestry) action : she has to operate some drastic economical cuts in justice budget, such as closing some small towns justice palaces for reconcentrating the procedures in the provincial bigger cities ;
that’s meaning that an economical “help” for these small towns is vanishing (idem for our army budget), thus the vandalists reaction, put the blame on the Arabs ! (that are a reaction from extremists)
Though, one thing is nonetheless reconforting, (that you can’t see in the northern EU countries) the islam equivalent to the “pope” in France for french muslims, the french Great Rabbin, the catholics representant, the protestants… were all condanming the act in one voice at the ceremony in the very cemetary

Yeah, I know … I was looking late last night, but too tired, for a story of maybe a couple/few years ago of an American WWII vets’ cemetary being vandalized in Europe … Might have been in one of theDutch countries … or even Germany.
No matter where it’s done I always believe it’s very bad mojo, karma, voodoo for whoever does it.
