Yeah this is pretty scary. I live in Fort Collins, which is currently under Tornado watch until 8PM, had some massive ones strike down in Winsor (~8 miles away) and Greeley (~30 miles away). I’ll keep you posted.

May 22nd, 2008 at 12:24 pmstay safe tom. my daughter left denver on a flight a couple hours before it hit. i have to drive out there the first of june. i love the flat land. i am kinda a storm watcher. last year i saw one storm cell the whole way there and back. i like to see them but of course some distance away. pre-plan and keep some cold beer in the basement
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:53 pmGlad to hear you’re okay Tom. I’m flying in to Denver tonight, hope it’s not too rough of a ride.
When I heard it was a large tornado I was really worried, I have some family in the Greeley area. They did say earlier on Fox that there was one death.
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:30 pmWell about a half hour ago I got a text from CSUPD that another tornado touched down in Johnstown outside of Greeley, asking students and faculty at CSU to seek shelter. But as of right now it’s nice and sunny outside. So I’m guessing I’m in the clear. Best of luck to you Molly for a safe flight. I’m sure you’ll be fine. The tornados have been about 30 miles north of DIA all day.
