May 6th, 2008 at 11:44 amThe only way anybody is gonna free Tibet, Tibetan or otherwise, is to pick up a rifle.
May 6th, 2008 at 11:47 amAnd that does not have to be made in china.
The truth sure does sting.
May 6th, 2008 at 11:56 amI don’t think our Flags are made in China. I haven’t yet seen an American Flag with a “made in China” sticker….although I agree we’re fucked. So two options.1-bring back industry to the USA, or at least the American Continent 2-Invade China and basically turn it into America3
May 6th, 2008 at 12:01 pmWhy should athletes who have trained for years for these Olympics be subject to the political considerations of protesting China?
The cartoon makes the point that protesting China is a pointless and hypocritical waste of effort - if you are a real believer, I guess you have to protest in the nude with a homemade sign drawn with a sharpie marker (made in US - I think)
Let the politicians and state department officials sort it out - isn’t that what we pay their huge salaries for??
May 6th, 2008 at 12:07 pmscrew tibet howabout darfur?? everyone just forgot about the mass genocide there eh, china is still not cooperating withthe un. becuase they have oil assets in sudan. and people working and living there
May 6th, 2008 at 12:36 pmI almost jumped for joy that my new Nike’s were made in Vietnam because at least it wasn’t China. I have been saying for years that maybe I wouldn’t have as much ’stuff’ as I do now but I wouldn’t mind paying more if the things I did buy were made in the USA.
May 6th, 2008 at 12:51 pmyea that profit margin drive has backfired on the US economy and the industry, if all of the production or at leas 60-70% returns to north america the US wont have a negative trade balance, and the economy will get back around, the only reason to keep industry in china will be to supply chinese market, maybe SE asian market, and do like EU did, put restrictions on certain categories of products from china…the olny way(and the most effective, bypassing the congress) to bring it back to america would be a total boycot (with the message why it is being boycoted) of the chinese made products, im sure the retailers will get the message…the only question ramining, will the amrecian public go to such lengths to prove the point, or is it too comfortable with the way things are?????
