Court Forces The Bush Administration For Climate Assessment
So, during WWII we were fighting a couple different fascist sources. Japanese Imperialism, Nazi Socialist Fascism, and whatever the hell Mussolini’s brand of fascism was …
Not to mention we were allied during the war with Communist Russia (who would post-war end up swallowing half of Europe, and not stop consuming countries until we , lead by Pres. Ronald Reagan, would defeat the USSR in the Cold War).
Today we seem to be facing several different faces of fascisim … all targeting us and our freedoms in one way or another. There are the socialist/neo-communists within our own country and government, the socialist/neo-communist dictatorships in South America and around the world, the Islamo-Fascists that want a Mt. Everest of our (and Jewish/Israeli) heads to climb.
Meanwhile, there is a growing fascism that has managed to slither and creep into our lives … invade our life-styles, court systems, government, media, and the mushy psyche of the A.D.D. population … including our school systems. Global Warming … or, “Climate Change” if it’s snowing and freezing like a holiday in Hell. And just as Communist USSR did after WWII, GW/CC has wiggled in while we were looking in other directions fighting other threats … And this fascist enemy continues to grow and strengthen its domination everyday … and nobody is questioning it … atleast, no one that is being permitted to be heard.
And the biggest problem to fighting this fascist foe is you really can’t shoot them or blow them up … well … Anyway, [they] just seem to be winning the GW/CC war without a battle or a fight of any sort … and that too is by design … in the liberal courts.
Climate assessment forced by court order
By Timothy Gardner
NEW YORK - The Bush administration released a climate change assessment on Thursday — four years late and pushed forward by a court order — that said human-induced global warming will likely lead to problems like droughts in the U.S. West and stronger hurricanes.
President George W. Bush’s stance on the issue has evolved from denying climate science to acknowledging that global warming is happening. In March, watchdog groups said Bush’s decision to intervene in setting air pollution standards was part of a pattern of meddling in environmental science.
The “Scientific Assessment of the Effects of Global Change on the United States” released on Thursday synthesized previous reports, including those by the government’s climate change science program and last year’s work by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
It is intended to give U.S. government agencies and lawmakers in Congress a single document to refer to when forming climate policy.
The assessment was praised by environmental groups at the forefront of the lawsuit that led to the court order forcing the administration to issue the report by the end of May.
“Hats off to the federal scientists who were allowed to do their work,” Kassie Siegel, climate program director of the Center for Biological Diversity, said by telephone.
But she criticized the administration for waiting until the last months of the Bush presidency to release the assessment.
A 1990 law, the Global Change Research Act, requires the government to do an assessment on global warming every four years. The last one had been issued in 2000 during President Bill Clinton’s administration.
The Bush administration has worked to get large-emitting countries to agree to non-binding goals on reducing output of carbon dioxide and other gases blamed for trapping heat in the Earth’s atmosphere and altering the climate.
But Bush has opposed regulating greenhouse gases and withdrew the United States from the Kyoto Protocol, saying it would hurt the economy.
The Kyoto Protocol binds some 37 industrialized nations to limits on their greenhouse gas emissions between 2008 and 2012, but allows countries which undercut their caps to sell that unused quota to other states busting theirs.
By most counts, the United States is the world’s top emitter of carbon dioxide but is expected to be overtaken soon by China.
In 2006, the Bush government was accused of censoring its scientists on global warming, such as NASA expert James Hansen, which led to the firing of an official at the space agency.
Sharon Hays, the White House associate science director, said Thursday’s document offered “a greater focus on what scientists know about climate change impacts in the United States” than the 2007 reports by the U.N. panel.
Siegel, echoing the sentiment of many environmental groups, said now that the government had an assessment, it should launch a cap-and-trade program on greenhouse gases and federal limits on emissions to slow climate change.
“Now it’s time to actually do something about climate change,” she said.
The Senate is expected to take up the leading climate bill next week, although few analysts expect it to pass before the next administration comes to power.

Making the Admin put out a report is like telling an atheist that they WILL go to church and you WILL believe no matter what you think…

May 30th, 2008 at 7:57 amI am disappointed in the entire Republican party for being mushy on this issue. Global warming is not happening as referenced by the latest report that “warming” is on hiatus for a while. The whole issue of Environmentalism can be summed up in the fact that people tend to take care of what they own. If you haven’t worked hard to own something, you don’t really make the effort to take care of it. If a farmer needs to continuously harvest trees on his own land, he’s going to be more apt to make sure those trees don’t dry up. Unlike some government or college educated hack sitting in an office in New York or D.C.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:57 amIf you can believe what is written by Reuters (see bottom) it would appear Congress is to blame for this….”A 1990 LAW, the Global Change Research Act, REQUIRES the GOVERNMENT to do an ASSESSMENT on global warming EVERY FOUR YEARS. The last one had been issued in 2000 during President Bill Clinton’s administration.”
Which raises the question, is Reuters reporting credible? From Article - “By most counts, the United States is the world’s top emitter of carbon dioxide but is expected to be overtaken soon by China.”
Um, no….China actually overtook the US back in 2006.
Another example here — “Bush has opposed regulating greenhouse gases and withdrew the United States from the Kyoto Protocol, saying it would hurt the economy.” Um, no…the Senate rejected Kyoto 95-0 in 1997 long before Bush became President.>/a>
I guess we should add Reuters and other establisment media to that fascism list.
May 30th, 2008 at 8:05 amThis is a battle that has more significance than we realize. Obviously, we knw that climate change and global warming are two different things. Climate change is normal, perpetual. Global warming is a man made fear mongering tactic that Sully put well, “Green is the new red.” Indeed it is.
The MSM is populated by these earth first types, i.e., Liberals, i.e., Demoncraps. I think we are going to have to start paying much more attention to government at all levels right down to the city level and make sure we know who to vote for and then DO IT. Probably preaching to the choir here but this religion of the left has far reaching tentacles that will invade areas of our lives that we can’t even imagine yet if it is left to prosper.
It’s very important that we wake up and crush this garbage philosophy with facts and information, not *just* by calling them names. Sure, call them names, that’s actually a lot of fun, but also have something solid to go with it that will get thinking people energized. Unfortunately, that excludes most DFL’ers.
