Happy Mother’s Day. Today’s the 100th anniversary of the holiday, I’m told. A special nod from all of us here to all the mother’s serving overseas, and to the mothers of those serving overseas.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - A member of the militant group Hamas has been killed in an explosion along Gaza’s fence with Israel, the group said Sunday.
The Islamic group’s military wing says the member was killed and another injured during a “holy mission.” Such language is used when explosives meant for an attack on Israel explode prematurely.
Israel’s army said it was not operating in the area at the time of the explosion early Sunday.
Fighting has escalated since an Israeli man was killed in a mortar shell attack on southern Israel on Friday. In retaliation, Israeli forces fired missiles that killed five Hamas militants.

Time magazine chews Maliki out for attacking Iranian-backed militias. This line from a typical propaganda exercise disguised as a news article today:
“How long this new cease-fire will last is uncertain. Al-Sadr declared a cease-fire unilaterally last year only to see al-Maliki ignore it with the initial strike in Basra.”

Dawn Wells, Mary Ann on the show “Gilligan’s Island,” was sentenced Feb. 29 to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation after pleading guilty to one count of reckless driving.

Here’s to our moms! They patched us up after pickup games of full-contact football, and falling out of trees; they also found to their horror how we tore up our new clothing, on so many occasions! God rest my mother’s soul.
May 11th, 2008 at 10:10 amYup! God bless Mom’s soul and Mother-in-law’s too! And the two Grand-Mothers that I never knew and all of your Mothers too.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you Mother’s!
May 11th, 2008 at 11:40 amTypical liberal article about the homecoming of the U.S. Army Reserve 384th Military Police Battalion.
It opens with this :
Welcome Homecoming
Soldiers and their families are eager for the reunion to begin
By Evan Goodenow
of The News-Sentinel
In Iraq, the war grinds on into its sixth year with 4,063 U.S. soldiers and estimates of as many as 1 million Iraqis killed through Thursday.

Someone who comments frequently on this site has suggested Alaska Congresswoman Sarah Palin for John McCain’s Veep.
I just received a weekly email from our local Down Syndrome support group President that Congresswoman Palin recently gave birth to a baby boy with DS. His name is Trig Paxson Van Palin
http://www.ktuu.com/global/story.asp?s=8194634
“Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged a God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for a good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed.”
Baby Trig had the good sense to be born into a family with four wonderful older siblings … with equally great names: Piper, 7, Willow, 13, Bristol, 17 and Track, 18.
In addition to Rep. Palin, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers of Washington state has a 1 year old son, Cole, with Down Syndrome.

Both women had prenatal testing (which I refused) and were aware early on of the genetic condition(s) and future challenges of their unborn babies.
On this Mother’s Day, I salute them, and all mothers, who do not sit in judgement of their unborn babies …
May 11th, 2008 at 6:50 pmGreat show Pat!

The live forum was a lot of fun, especially when the hypocrite loony liberal spineless asshole “hbeee” or “bhee” showed up. HEHE. That was right before Bash went on air the second time. He was getting reamed pretty good as you might expect. HAHA!
May 11th, 2008 at 9:36 pmBob
Please do. Which brings up the point that more members of Dollard Nation should start calling in as well.
May 11th, 2008 at 9:44 pmPat Dollard
My only complaint is the short duration of the show, but we can forgive you, given your busy schedule!

Food for thought
George Washington, August 3, 1776, Orders to his troops:
“The General is sorry to be informed that the foolish, and wicked practice, of profane cursing and swearing (a Vice heretofore little known in an American Army) is growing into fashion; he hopes the officers will, by example, as well as influence, endeavor to CHECK IT, and that both they, and the men will reflect, that we can have little hopes of the blessing of Heaven on our Arms, if we insult it by our impiety, and folly; added to this, it is a vice so mean and low, without ANY temptation, that every man of sense, and character, detest and despises it.”
GEEEEEZZZZ that is a mouth full…He said it not me.
I say… You guys are sooooo BRAVE be noble too!
