Been very, very busy…you’re in good hands with Bash, Lft, and Drill.

4:14 P.M. (ET) - May 24
drill here …
Dollard’s probably gonna have my head, spine and ass for pissing in his territory … but I hate seeing this thread dead …
So, gimme a little time and I’ll get some things on the table for yunz to pick at for the evening.
4:30 P.M. (ET)
Oklahoma’s turn …
Watching live coverage on Fox News of the nasty storms and tornadoes hitting Oklahoma. The heavy black ‘wall clouds’ hanging over the area and funnels dropping out of the black sky is both scary and incredible! Will get you pictures and video when available.
Stay safe, Okies!
Memorial Day In Iraq
6:05 P.M. (ET)
Here’s that incredible update and live action footage of twisters in Oklahoma.
10:15 P.M. (ET)
Robbie Knievel jumps 24 trucks in Ohio
MASON, Ohio (AP) - Robbie “Kaptain” Knievel successfully jumped over 24 delivery trucks Saturday night at the site of one of his father’s most famous stunts. Knievel had said he would be going 95 miles per hour during the 220- foot jump, which began from a tall ramp and was completed amid wild cheers, booming explosions and shooting flames at Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati.
After landing, the daredevil gave the crowd a thumbs-up, raced his bike back and forth and popped a wheelie.
Evel Knievel jumped 115 feet over 14 buses at Kings Island in 1975 in an event that was watched by more than half of the nation’s television viewers. He died last year at the age of 69 after suffering from failing health for many years.
Robbie Knievel dedicated his stunt to his father, U.S. war veterans and those serving in the military.
Just an observation … I notice the day started out with an “Aussie” lean to the stories on the site … Now seems as though it’s gone British …

May 25, 2008 … drill here again … 1:50 P.M. (ET)
Not sure where Pat is, but expect to hear from him today.
1) I do not know about tonight’s broadcast … As soon as I (we) do we WILL let yunz know.
2) Okay … PLEASE be patient with your comments not appearing … They end up in the SPAM collector (Hey, no bitching … 40% of mine end up there too … and I’m officially a ‘blogger’ here!) … But when I got up this morning there were over 330 on hold in SPAM … and only about a dozen were comments for topic threads … and I went to bed at 3 A.M.! So, be patient … LBA and I routinely check the box throughout the day …
3) Thanks to Kevin M for the “plurals” I inquired about … I still think it’s “peni” … Whatever … There sure are a lot of them ‘hanging’ out in the SPAMinator.
5:32 P.M. (ET)
INDIANAPOLIS — Scott Dixon has won the Indianapolis 500, beating Vitor Meira to the checkered flag by 1.75 seconds.
Meira appeared ready to take the win, but Dixon beat him out of the pits on the last stop for fuel and stayed in front the final 29 laps.
It was the first win at Indy for Dixon, who started on the pole and led most of the race, despite an early challenge by teammate Dan Wheldon and a late pass by Meira. Marco Andretti was third, and two-time winner Helio Castroneves finished fourth.
Anybody else
HATE those tiny ears of corn they insist on tossing into most Chinese dishes?
There has to be a much better use for all the ones over the years I have picked out and pitched into the trash (even the dog won’t touch them) …
How about a bio-fuel source???
Drill
May 22nd, 2008 at 2:00 pmRemember the scene, I think it was in “Big” with Tom Hanks where he is trying to eat the little cocktail ears of corn like big ears of corn?
I remember that and it was hilarious. cant believe i forgot about that movie until you mentioned it, a classic
May 22nd, 2008 at 2:35 pmEven better was when he tried the caviar and didn’t know quite what to do with it to get it off his tongue and out of his mouth without hurling all over the buffet table.

Pat, I’m an X-Flight Attendant. Are you familiar with the “Put your OWN mask on FIRST” announcement? It can apply to many situations in life… Hope your head is healed…I am still praying for you.

May 22nd, 2008 at 5:46 pmWho were you with? I was a C/A for TWA until “The Great Bloodletting of ‘01″.
Tim
I was the last class of Ozark F/A,s(do you remember them?) I stuck around TWA for a few years…married an Anheuser-Busch exec. had a son and a daughter and moved to Hong Kong so he could help open a brewery in Wuhan,China. We moved back to STL in 97, bought a beautiful old house in Webster Groves, had another son and life was grand.
May 22nd, 2008 at 6:33 pmThen 911.
My husband was now in charge of International Military Sales at A/B. How we ended up here in St. Croix is nothing less than a divine story. Lets just say God wants us here and its fine with me. Every day is sooo beautiful. We’ve been here almost 3 years and a day still does not pass without a deep feeling of “I can’t believe I live here.”
Don’t get me wrong, we live very simple, a small old bungelow in the palms. No highways, no billboards,no shopping its not for everyone. I went around the world several times, I am happy to slow down and breathe.
You didn’t ask for all that….sorry.
What kind of work do you do now?
Wow, yeah, Ozarkers were always the best to work with. My instructor(mentor really) at the Academy was Ozark and Pan Am before that. Ozark pilots were always fun. I loved the job and had every intention of staying til retirement. When were you flying with us? I came up through rez and then ticketing/baggage at Lambert before I jumped to In-Flight. The “Senior Mamas” of TWA were just about unbearable and the ‘86ers had huge chips on their shoulders but were cool once they realized you didn’t want them pushed out the door at 30,000 feet…..
May 22nd, 2008 at 7:00 pmAhhh good times, good times.
Drill, LBA
USS Mount Whitney is now outside Lebanon.
the USS Mount Whitney , considered the US Navy’s most advanced command, control, communications, computer and intelligence vessel, took up position opposite Lebanese shores for an “unscheduled mission.”
The Sixth Fleet spokesman Lt. Patrick Foughty said the ship would be there “to support additional communication requirements for our ships already underway.”

May 22nd, 2008 at 7:02 pmThanks, little bro …

May 22nd, 2008 at 7:13 pmI still say this site needs a forum.
Oh and I did I mention back in the spring semester, our cafeteria dining center had a “Sustainability Week?” They removed all trays, hoping to reduce our energy and food consumption “footprints,” for a week!
May 22nd, 2008 at 7:25 pmGuess there was a heck of a lot of cleaning up in your cafeteria that week …
May 22nd, 2008 at 7:28 pmI only flew from 85 to 89. My son was born and I was blessed to be able to stay home and be a mommy. The memories from that job and the experiences were great. Flying is such a pain in the ass now.
SOOO what are you doing now in STL?
Im goin to bed…catch u tomorrow
May 22nd, 2008 at 7:32 pmBash, Lft, and Drill are doing an outstanding job.

Hope the Mount Whitney has escorts and a redo of the USS Liberty doesn’t take place. I remember in ‘67 at Lejune, we mounted up for our war with Israel.

tanicacid
so whats your take on that? or what is the official stance on that incident? was it deliberate, or as the Israeli claim, they thought it was an Egyptian vessel. that mission was mysteriously called off. weird stuff.
And the scary thing about these 2 ships, they were both backed up by the 6th fleet too, just found that.
May 23rd, 2008 at 7:11 amlittlefox
during the 67′ Arab/Israeli war the Israelis bombed the shit out of a US intelligence ship named the USS Liberty.
Killed 34 sailors and wounded 171.
Even the captain was killed. Commander William McGonagle
The Israelis claimed it was an accident, they thought it was an Egyptian ship. but there are reports that 2 Israeli fighter pilots who refused to take part in the attack were jailed for 18 years each. thats all i have read about it at least.
May 23rd, 2008 at 7:21 amI thought we were/are their “best friend”????
May 23rd, 2008 at 7:39 amI saw that shit on tv! Please tell me you loaded that pissy plate up with food and then made four more trips!

May 23rd, 2008 at 10:20 amhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080523/ap_on_re_us/afghan_marine_shooting
I read a VFW article on the USS Liberty while waitng for a Dr. Appt. Latest info then was the Isralies saw the US Flag through the whole bomb and straffing and knew exactly who they were attacking. Ships of all nations were pulled west in the med except for the Liberty. Realeased intel from the Soviets, when their archives were accessable for a few years, was a message frag intercept from the CIA office in Tel Aviv that looked like the Liberty may be passing intel to the Arabs. Who knows the real story. The first ship to return and offer help to the Liberty was a Soviet frigate.
Since it was a messed up mission, the Vets of the Liberty were denied VA benifits for a long time until enough hell was raised.
As far as we knew while mounting up half the Marines and Air on the east coast back then, we were attacked by israel. An act of war, and all hell was going to come down on Israel. The Six Day War was on and it wasn’t to clear who the Marines were going to land on. It wasn’t until about 6 months later while I was on BLT-3/1 at Subic, (Jan. ‘68?) that I ran into some of my old unit and they said they made it as far as the Azores on troop ships before the Six Day War ended and the whole assalut force turned into a Med Cruise “exorcise.” It wasn’t a couple weeks later that that the USS Pueblo was captured by the North Koreans, ( a whole nother story!)and Tet in Nam so things were pretty busy around the world back then. If you think our forces are stretched thin now, decisions were made to post our forces that could have lost our influence in many places around the world. But, the NK’s, Mao and East Germany didn’t make a move…thank God. To this day I call the Six Day War our war with Israel.

sounds like we should have given them an ass whoopin’!
I like Israel and am glad we protect them and support them but if we ever got hit with an unprovoked attack by them again i would be all for reminding them who is king.
Most Americans dont know about that incident. and the thing that kills me is that the USS Liberty was classified as ‘not repairable’ and sold for scrap metal shortly after the attack. possibly hiding evidence? i dont know

What is the proper plural form of the word “penis”?
Penises?
Or peni?
May 24th, 2008 at 7:48 amKurt, on the Liberty,
I imagine the Mount Whitney, or any ship now days, is crusing with a finger on the trigger for any UFO’s approaching so they got half a chance to defend themselves. The sad thing about such incidents as the Liberty, is the denied VA med coverage after the wounded get out of the services. I’m thinking after Bosnia and many other undeclared war operations the WIA’s have an easier time of proving service connected injuries…I hope. I tell all I can still in to keep a personal record (discouraged by the military)of every thing one can, people, dates, locations, or what ever one thinks would be handy to prove service connected injuries because the VA gauntlet they have to go through otherwise will sap the spirit until one drops the claim…the VA’s number one strategy.
Anyhow, watching various panels on CSPAN, the weapons list of Hesbola, Iran and Syria from the Russians and others showed me that any of our ships are going to be in serious risk in that area: submarines, high tech missles such as the ones that damn near sunk Israels top battle ship, fast attack gun/torpedo boats and on and on. One glitch like the ones that percipitated the Liberty incident and somebody will get hurt. Hopefully, not our guys.

May 25th, 2008 at 9:10 amKnievil’
Robbies jump is a fitting salute to his dad and country. Also, Evel Knievel days in Butte is a party there second only to St. Pattys Day. Butte is the only town in the country that shuts down all government offices for the week of St. Pattys Day during parades and festivities…except for the Cops of course. Founding home of John’s Pork Chop Sandwhich and Jo Jo’s…it’s a local thang. Remeber the old days when as one staggered from pub to pub, one could grab a chop, jo and beer at the sidewalk window for $2. Then head out to the Pavillion amusement park to see Gary Lewis and the Playboys or another time The Kingsman. Sigh, the copper mine pit absorbed the Pavilion and finally shut down all together but St. Paddys and Knievel still provide excuses for parties.
My favorite Evel gig story was his brawl with the bikers way back when.
May 25th, 2008 at 9:18 amRobbie jumped those trucks about 20 minutes away from my house at kings island. i watched it live on the local news website. i swear the crowd there seemed half asleep. anyways, it was badass and wish i could have been there

May 25th, 2008 at 9:47 amSome of the above comments here remind me of my days at Camp Sea Gull!
Is there a radio show tonight? I’m hooked.
May 25th, 2008 at 9:57 amI’m over here now. The post in “Mr. Muscle” was not a joke!
Seems I got the hair up on the back of your neck. You did not READ IT very well. I SAID “NO Utopia on this planet” At least not until Christ returns, and He said “there will be a NEW earth”.
As for R Paul, I said “I WAS repeat WAS for him.” (Found stuff about him HERE that changed my mind)
AS for how did I end up on patdollard.com?
I ASKED GOD TO LEAD ME TO THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ended up HERE.
How do I know HE led me? I don’t want to be here!!!!!
I !@#$^& don’t belong here.
The !@#$%^ worst mistake man ever made.
I HATE CARS!!!!
I LOVE TREES and thank God for them everyday…I find them amazing. Go watch one grow, it will help you understand GOD.
I don’t much care for computers…I’d rather be painting or sculpting, or ribbon dancing with my cats to Marvin Gaye “Whats goin on”!!!!!!!!!!!!!Or at the beach praying!!!!!
What we do have in common is our love of FREEDOM and the men and women who defend it.
I have never served in the military. My Dad was a pilot USAF before Nam and before I was born.
I try to follow Jesus and be a witness to HIM. I fail miserably but,I keep trying.
I am surrounded by Obamaites.
This site gives me explanations. The angry division in our country is not good. I asked why the troops can not defend us from home? I did not mean completely…but if Iraq is becoming stable can we not start bringing some of them home?
May 25th, 2008 at 12:40 pmWhat is your military background?
I watch the vids on this sight and they make me cry. I don’t know the answer. I’m just a shy littlefox looking for the truth.
I am going to the beach to talk to GOD.
Just talked to my sis out in Portland–she was indeed at the Obama rally last weekend. BIG SURPRISE.
May 25th, 2008 at 12:57 pmI’m breaking my promise not to post here again because of you. (And, because of Dan (The Infidel) who is my better half these days.
to you, Dan, saying “Sir, yes Sir!”.)
You say that you are just a shy little fox, looking for the truth. By the way you’ve described how you live, I think you’re already doing a great job.
Being shy is nothing bad. Just, keep doing what you are doing already. And, visit that beach whenever you feel the need.
I’ll bet you’ll become less shy and even more stronger then you already are, without knowing it.
Bless you,
from Jeanet in the Netherlands.
May 25th, 2008 at 1:50 pmlittle fox
I took your being for Ron Paul as you not being for him now because he no longer has achance of winning. Im not quite sure what you mean about ‘not’ belonging here. of course you belong here, or at least you’re welcome here. i would encourage everyone to come over here and become truly aware of what is going on in the world. not just what a machine known as the left wing in this country, which unfortunately controls almost all of our mainstream media and Congress.
Just because i questioned one or two statements you made does not mean i have a problem with you. you and everyone else are totally welcome here and its a great place to learn the truth. not just perceived truth but the facts. I was just trying to figure out more about what you were talking about.
I differ a great deal with Ron Pauls views on how the US should conduct itself across the world, he prefers us to just come home and not protect ourselves, our interests and our friends worldwide.
and your point about Iraq becoming stable and us being able to bring troops home. sure we should be able to start bringing some home and they are talking about that right now. but if we were to bring large numbers of troops home right now then our friends in Iraq who are still in the infant stage of democracy would be left to deal with more and more bad influences coming from Iran. not to mention Al Quaeda in Iraq would come back and start their destruction campaign again. I think we’re not far from seeing the Iraqi military and police take pretty much the whole role of security for their own country, but we need to be there for assistance, training and just in case the shit hits the fan again.
Its great that you watch the videos on here. the fact is that they should make you sad because it means you’re human and you have a heart and by being here it also shows that you care about your country just like we do and are attempting to make a change in yourself by understanding why our troops are fighting this war, how evil the enemy is and why we have to win. victory is the only option. We are fighting Nazis all over again, people who live by the creed of convert to Islam or die. People who are incapable of co-existing with Christian neighbors, or Jews, or Hindus or athiests. or gays or women who want to learn and succeed in life. I could go on all day about the things they are against. They would be trying to kill us even if George W Bush was never born because they hate what we stand for, not our president.
I have no military background. I am an American who loves this country, has supported the military ever since i was a kid and Operation desert shield started, then desert storm. my old neighbor was in the Army at the time and so was his son. I also come from a military family my grandpa was a marine in world war 2, my uncles was in the army and served in the korean war, also lots of friends who are currently serving and they all share the same opinion, not to end the fight until we have total victory over the enemy. i am young and can still get in there which i have been thinking more and more about that these days.
I live in the woods, i see trees growing every day of the week. and i have a pretty good understanding of how God works and the best way to put it is, ‘in mysterious ways’.
long post
May 25th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
I’ve got a message for Pat…Do NOT be discouraged. God keeps his promises!
May 25th, 2008 at 2:26 pmI don’t know whats goin on w/you now but I believe God wants me to remind you of this…
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth,… 29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother[a] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.” Matthew 19:29
I’m still prayin’ for you brother
