The best part about Friday is knowing that I still have to work all weekend and Friday is meaningless. No, that’s not the best part. But it’s a part.
Definitely see you live at the podcast this Sunday, 8 PM PST, not travelling this weekend, so no chance of being delayed at an airport like last time.

McCain planning Global Warming Tour, from the Phoenix Examiner:
“Sen. John McCain really does want to tempt the Republican base. …
We’ve gotten our hands on an advanced transcript of this weekend’s “The Chris Matthews Show” on NBC and the British Broadcasting Corporation’s Katty Kay offered this nugget during the show’s “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” segment:
“John McCain is going to be doing more of these themed tours of America, and one of them is going to be on energy and global climate change. It could get him into trouble with Republicans, of course, and with the base, who don’t think there is much climate change going on, but it is something that he’s very passionate about and he’s going to be talking about it.”

ROCK ISLAND, Tenn. (AP) - One moment, Justin Hill was turning into his driveway. Minutes later he was being flown to a hospital as his home went up in flames. Then he got a traffic ticket.
Hill, 42, got into a crash after turning into the path of an oncoming car Tuesday evening, said Tennessee Highway Patrol Officer Monte Terry. Hill’s wife heard the crash and ran outside, leaving the kitchen stove, where she had been cooking unattended.
Within minutes, their Rock Island trailer was on fire, and firefighters who had responded to the accident found themselves fighting the blaze.
The rural central Tennessee home had extensive damage. Hill was treated at the hospital and released, but he was cited in the accident for failure to yield.

McCain is being realistic. We cannot continue to depend on foreign oil.

May 9th, 2008 at 11:24 amThe rest of that formula is drilling our own and he’s fucking against that. Does he think we are going to find a way to run our cars on pixie dust? Realistic is not the word I’d use to describe Mac’s position on oil.
Hey McCain; freaking oil $126.00 a barrel.
May 9th, 2008 at 11:51 amMuslims gang-rape 13 year-old to battle Christianity - The “religion” of peace, at it again….
My church sponsors a Christian ministry in Bangladesh. Occasionally we get updates via e-mail from him read aloud as to how he’s doing, how followers are persecuted etc…, God bless him and all those who venture into these hellholes and have to deal w/fanatical muslim shitheads. These folks have to be eradicated like the vermin they are.

May 9th, 2008 at 12:39 pmTHOSE BORN 1920-1979
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants &children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren’t overweight because,
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were OK.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD’s, no surround-sound or CD’s, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms…….
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS!
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn’t it?!
Happy Mothers Day

May 9th, 2008 at 5:19 pmI just want to say hello from America’s paradise, St. Croix US Virgin Islands. In 2005 I jumped of the run away train I was on in St. Louis and ended up here. I have been trying to open a PTSD treatment resort. It is sloooow goin’ but I am hopeful that someday every American soldier and his/her partner will be given a time to surf, scuba, sail and simply rest in the glory of God that is all around us here.

May 10th, 2008 at 8:05 amparcel of beach front land that is an abandoned hotel in ruins and an abandoned public housing project. The housing project is 5 three story concrete buildings that will be knock down soon. Sadly, I would have been happy to have lived there when they were vacated 20 months ago. Now they have become the best place in town to strip a stolen car. The thugs have also stipped the wiring, fixtures etc. Our tax dollars hard at work. The other irony about this once beautiful spot is that the government put the housing project right next to a thriving little hotel. The hotel went out of business after rapes and robberies leeched over from the project.
One other thing, I approached August A Busch III and IV several times with a proposal of the project. We were calling it “The 180″ after Anheuser-Busch’s energy drink 180. Yeah that is A/B’s energy drink, it’s nasty…anyway they wouldn’t talk to me. I even had a color guard of Marines ready and willing to hand delv a flag and our plan to 1 Busch Place (Thanks Steve and The South Side Detachment)

Hello Dollard Nation readers!
Been hittin up the bars with old friends, and to celebrate my 3.86 GPA for the semester.
Interesting note, one of my best friend’s mother’s boyfriend, lives a street away from the Hager family. Some of you might know their son is marrying Jenna Bush today. This same man is a former Marine who fought in Vietnam, AND lives across the street from POW Paul Galanti (who naturally has a McCain sticker on his car). How about that?
