My Picture Of The Day
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
When they come I will stand my ground
Stand my ground I’ll not be afraid
Thoughts of home take away my fear
Sweat and blood hide my veil of tears
Once a year say a prayer for me
Close your eyes and remember me
Never more shall I see the sun
For I fell to a Germans gun
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Where before many more have gone

May 26th, 2008 at 6:12 pmGod bless Army Sgt. James John Regan.
May 26th, 2008 at 6:54 pmAnd those who grieve for him.
I watched a widow sit and weep,
May 26th, 2008 at 7:13 pmBut I came to kneel where warriors sleep.
I plant a flag beside the stone
And think of glory far long gone.
I will not sit where she is weeping,
For we each have promises worth keeping.
if this is the same james john regan, i saw an inspirational story on him a few weeks ago on espn. he played lacrosse for duke university before joining the rangers. this past season, the duke and army lacrosse teams played a game at his former high school to raise money for the foundation started in his honor. you can view it here:
