Not so much a crash landing as it is a landing gear malfunction. The pilot is to be commended.

May 28th, 2008 at 10:10 amI remember reading about the great aces of the war, those that flew the 109 knew it was a handful to land on the narrow-set landing gear. It is amazing that they flew from dirt fields in Africa and Russia. This case was an obvious failure of one of the landing gear, and a tremendously skilled pilot. I’m glad the “rough” landing left the plane mostly intact. Kudos to the pilot..
