Breaking - Boy Killed At Six Flags Over Georgia
By RHONDA COOK - (AJC)
A boy was killed Saturday when he was struck by the popular Batman ride at Six Flags Over Georgia.
Cobb County police declined to confirm reports that the boy was decapitated, saying they were deferring to the park to release details of the accident that occurred shortly after 2 p.m.
Police spokesman Dana Pearce said the victim was not on the ride when he was “struck and killed.” Six Flags said in a statement that details of the fatal accident would be released “shortly.”
According to Fox 5 TV, a group of boys with a church group visiting the amusement park jumped a fence around an off-limits area. One of them jumped to grab someone’s feet as the Batman ride passed over, and he was decapitated.
Ohhh dam you can’t make that crap up. And you wonder why they make off limits areas.
June 28th, 2008 at 1:53 pmI worked in a theme park in the past, no fatalities occurred while I was there, but many close calls, usually by customers not obeying the rules.
June 28th, 2008 at 2:24 pmThis reminds me of a line in James Dobsons book “Bringing up boys”…”They will risk life and limb for absolutely NO good reason.” I am sad for this boys parents and my prayers go out to them.

June 28th, 2008 at 2:28 pmbut whats really scary is i was actually at six flags at the time of the accident and it happened 20 minutes AFTER my mom and step dad got off. they could have been on that ride when it happened. this is just shocking. but what i really dont get is why someone would be SO STUPID to go try and grab someone’s feet on a ride that is going over 70 mph. that is so STUPID to even attempt!! its also sad and i send my best to the family of this 17 yr old. may god bless you and help you through this difficult time. my prayers are with you.
A 17 year old? I was thinking younger. An age young enough to lack the judgement, but old enough have the physical agility to get over a fence. I was figuring 11-13.
17 is old enough to have the better judgement. We did the same stupid shit in Denver as kids. Trespassing/drinking at the rail yard. One kid from our high school was run over by a train.
