When I was a little girl in the 1960s and listened to my Hungarian Grandmother tall me stories about Hungary, and how she (and my Grandfather) had left family behind when thier parents moved the immediate family to the States … I would ask her why she, or Grandpa, didn’t travel back to Hungary to see their families …
Her eyes would get very wide with opposition and near terror, “No! They would NEVER let us leave there if we went back!”
I asked who?
“The damn Communist!”
Do you really think a country/government that is notorious for its people rigging floatation devices to risk shark-infested waters, drowning and other means of death to leave their country (Cuba) in droves, would NOT take advantage of dissident Cubans from the USA traveling back to Cuba and keeping them in Cuba if they dared to return there?
